One thing is for sure, they did not disappoint!

A musical collage, each remix presents a unique and undeniable identity of its own. From electro-soul to drum and bass, the push and pull of each piece take us on an auditory journey and re-imagines Maddy O’Neal’s work through a kaleidoscopic lens.

Ricochet Remixed Vol 1. is an eclectic collaboration of a wide array of artists, all ready to make a statement.

Let’s dig in, shall we?

“The Way Home (Jaenga Remix)” introduces the energy of Ricochet Remixed Vol. 1 with flawless execution; bouncy bass and droning synths, this Jaenga remix is sure to get a crowd jumping. Up next, Super Future takes us “Back to Basics” with his rework. Sprinkled with wonky bass, energetic percussion, and echoing vocal flourishes, Super Future’s signature sound is hard to miss.

“Change Of Pace feat. MOONZz (AVELLO Remix)” turns the tides, slows down the vibe, and introduces us to a scenic ballad before dropping into an all-encompassing symphony of pulsating and intricate sound design. Almost effortlessly, we are transitioned into “Affected (Michal Menert Remix),” taking a funky turn as an homage to the timelessness of electro-funk. Next, “Follow Me feat. Balkan Bump (Ashez Remix)” takes us deeper into the bass abyss. Complete with brassy instrumental flourishes and powerful vocals throughout the chorus, the song begs us to do exactly as instructed, and follow them down into their vision of bass music.

While reworked, each remix holds true to the energy of the Ricochet LP.

“Slow Motion Remix (MZG Remix)” then takes center stage with its slow and steady intro before evolving into an explosive, funky, bass-driven work of art. The catchy lyrics and high-energy trap bass will have your head bobbin’ in no time at all. “Never Fades (AHEE Remix)” is up next on the roster, highlighting the dynamic sounds of drum and bass. AHEE hits us with rowdy rollers and hi-hats to boot.

“Climb On (Late Night Radio Remix)” ends the latter half of the remix album with an uplifting and funky embellishment. Laika Beats is up next, with their remix of “Dystopia feat. Honeycomb.” The synth-driven and pixilated soundscapes playfully integrate while powerful percussion compliments the driveline bassline. Ending with quite the bang, Biicla finishes off the album with “Get Gone w/ Lily Fangz,” a bouncy and lively rework of its original dreamy and funky inspiration.

Maddy O’Neal shows her dedication to the bass music scene time and time again. With noteworthy performances at Lost Lands, Hulaween, and Lollapalooza — she commands the crowds with her drum pads, original compositions, and interwoven storylines. We can’t wait to see what she does next!
