This past weekend Meow Wolf—an arts and entertainment group based in Santa Fe, New Mexico—hosted Dark Palace. This is the first time the 3-day “Dance Obscura” took place in Denver, Colorado at the National Western Complex.

The event’s lineup was uniquely a mixture of house, techno, and bass. It featured artists like Claude VonStroke, MK, CharlestheFirst, and Dirt Monkey, in addition to many other producers on this fully-stacked lineup.

Each night of Dark Palace was a different genre, theme, and had two different stages—so you were sure to never get bored. Of course, the warehouse itself was transformed into a multi-sensory, psychedelic space.

We weren’t disappointed by what Dark Palace had to offer. Every area was exactly what you would expect from Meow Wolf. Not to mention, all of the rooms were adorned with bright, neon trippy lights and fractal light fixtures, much like the original space in Santa Fe.

The Denver location is expected to be opening sometime in 2021 and we’re so excited to give it a visit.

The event was successful, to say the least. After the event, Meow Wolf posted on their Instagram:

Dark Palace was AMAZING! 12,000+ attendees, dozens of Denver artists. Welcomed with a warm embrace by the beautiful city. Congrats to everyone involved, and thank you Denver for all the love and support.

During the event, Meow Wolf was definitely hinting at what’s to come once the new property opens up in Denver. This city is already blessed with so much good music, art, and people, so we can’t wait to see what’s in store for us!
