In just a few short weeks, the Lakehurst Event Center comes alive with Lunar Tide 2022, Chicago’s favorite underground bass music festival! Start your December with live art, music, and two immaculate sound systems.
This year’s roster is overflowing with various genres and the best current underground artists around. On Friday, Tape B gets the ball rolling with one of his riveting sets that pay tribute to old-school dubstep. Afterward, Mythm, NotLö, and A Hundred Drums are all set to deliver some earth-shattering bass. Luckily the Lunar stage will be powered by an HSD sound system, so don’t forget those earplugs! On top of that, EH favorite, Ravenscoon, graces the main stage before Mersiv brings down the house.

“The Lunar Tide pre-party last year was a blast, and it was packed from the front to the back. I can’t wait to be on the main stage this year; I’ve got lots of new music to play that no one has heard yet. The lineup curation is well thought out again this year. Friday night is going to be proper!”
– Mythm
Meanwhile, the Solar stage will get just as rowdy on day one! Get there early to witness the drum and bass madness brought by Sam Binga and Hyroglifics. Then DJ Yung Vamp’s suave flow switches up the vibe, incorporating some hip-hop into this bass-heavy lineup. Lastly, the eccentric Seppa is guaranteed to throw down a set you won’t want to miss. Additionally, the DubHub stage will be up and running with performances by Sora, Automhate, Sonorous, Smal B, and more!
A hefty roster, a pair of Henny’s, and the homies- what more could you need?!

The party continues, and Saturday’s schedule is just as stacked. An Innamind takeover featuring Sir Hiss, Foamplate, and Kursk is first on the itinerary for the Solar stage, equipped with a pair of Funktion Ones. Following that, Coki finishes the night with a proper lesson in bass music.
Correspondingly, Chef Boyarbeatz gets things cookin’ on the Lunar stage, along with Curra and Player Dave. The dynamic duo, Integrate is another highly anticipated set because the boys never fail to electrify a crowd. Later in the night, embark on a journey through twisted, experimental bass with Tripp St. and Tsuruda before the finale- a Lab Group+ performance, with appearances from Tiedye Ky and others!
It’s obvious the amount of detail Notion Presents puts into curating lineups; the same goes for their flow artists and painters. Pay attention to the displays of live installments from promising Chicago street artists, plus the talented hoopers accompanying the production. Music and art go hand in hand, and Lunar Tide has plenty of both.
“Lunar Tide has evolved into such a special community-like vibe. All teams involved have done an amazing job capturing some of the top rising talents and some of the most highly desired artists in bass music and putting them under one roof.”
– Samantha Belanger, Notion Presents.
Notion has showcased some of the best underground acts since this festival began in 2016. Its size and production grow, but the close-knit sense of community stays the same. Lunar Tide 2022 is only ten days away, and to say I’m excited is an understatement; see you soon!
