Daisy Chain is undoubtedly the “cool kids club” among Southern California electronic music scenes. Originating as a bass-centric party series founded by Player Dave, and evolving to a quality-first record label releasing tracks from only the most forward-thinking producers in the US-UKG realm, Daisy Chain Recordings has been a success from the jump. With 19 previous releases under their belt, Dream Disc is the label’s first compilation: a collection of some of the most forward-thinking beats you can find in the corners of the music scene around these parts of the industry (writing from LA). We’re here to point you in its dreamy direction.

Diamond Cuts
This compilation contains multitudes of production talent, bringing on DC all-stars as well as some new faces. At 13 tracks, we have offerings from several multi-genre champions on Dream Disc. Here’s the full tracklist breakdown:

- Lilah – Zinc
- Kelbin – Micro
- Niles – Prints
- Next to Blue – Deeper Permanence
- Mirror Maze – Patience
- QRTR – UPRES
- Stresshead – Overthinking
- Crosstalk – task.due
- JOIA – Stay for Me
- RamonPang – Awa Funk
- Levos – Freedom Farm (Club Mix)
- canary yellow – Intima (feat. Allegra Miles)
- Player Dave & JOIA – what we dream of
Our favorites from Dream Disc? It’s a tough choice to make between so many immaculate cuts, but we have to go with Crosstalk, Ramon Pang, and canary yellow’s features.

Crosstalk’s “task.due” is a heavy-hitting amalgamation of intricate percussion and the deep subs he’s known to throw in his drops, this time possibly venturing deeper than ever before. The heavy drops ring and resonate in the depths of their frequency range, and the rest of the atmosphere he creates with “task.due” is equal parts clean and mean.
RamonPang, founder of another label infamous for its quality, Tabula Rasa Records, shines with his contribution “Awa Funk.” Ramon, ever-ahead of the curve, never fails to hit us with danceable basslines, steppy drums, and pads so ethereal you have to wonder if his synth patches were programmed with divine intervention. This track stands out from the rest in its understated qualities, as it’s one of the groovier tracks on the compilation without being the flashiest. Quality over extravagance makes for an impeccable production that couldn’t go without a mention here.

This write-up also couldn’t end without noting “Intima (feat. Allegra Miles)” by canary yellow. As the second-to-last track on the compilation, this track carries its weight both sonically and emotionally. Allegra Miles’ gorgeous vocals glide along all of the track’s elements like a smooth wave, crafting a perfectly heartfelt expression to round out this release towards its close.
Chains of Innovation
As “Daisy Chain” refers to a string of devices linked together to share power or data, the artists repping DCR here came together on this debut compilation to create a cohesive sound of innovation. The forward-thinking production of all of these songs makes for an absolutely unskippable release. Don’t sleep on DCR (if you’re reading this, we’re sure you’re not) and be sure to listen to Dream Disc if you haven’t already. Best enjoyed while daydreaming.
