Halloween is creeping up on us, Hawkies, and we want to make sure you have some terrifyingly tasty tunes to pair with whatever your harrowing holiday has in store. If you think about it, there are some subgenres of electronic music that just make sense for Halloween – whether you’re feeling the dangerous vibes of dark drum and bass or getting silly with some ghoulish glitch hop.
Perhaps you’re pregaming for a show, gearing up for a ghastly get-together with friends, or simply staying in and handing out candy. Either way, we’ve got you covered with some hand-picked mixes and sets to get you into the Halloween headspace.
DWELL INTO THE SPOOKY MIXES BELOW
Simula: IV Mix
Hailing from the UK, Simula has been a staple across the pond because of his unmistakable, almost unsettling sound, and now he is making waves in the US. We got a double dose of him at Submersion Festival with both a DnB and 140 set, so it’s safe to say he is continuing to gain fandom stateside. Simula is known for his otherworldly soundscapes and ominous textures, and this mix is no exception. If you are looking for deliciously disturbing drum and bass and more, be sure to give it a go.
Omadhaun Set @ Culprate and Friends
Also hailing from the UK, Omadhaun flaunts a fun and freaky set that is daringly different from your average Halloween performance, making it a real treat. Punchy, upbeat video game melodies mesh perfectly with bouncy breaks and smashing samples, making this set both silly and seriously good. At one point, Omadhaun masterfully mixes in a triple blend of the GTA San Andreas theme song, amapiano, and Doechii lyrics, a feat that some of the biggest names in EDM couldn’t manage. Whether you’re a gamer or that one friend who IDs every sample, this one has you covered.
Knob Ross @ Hulaween 2025
Knob Ross is an up-and-coming stateside beat slinger that brought the heat with some monstrous grooves in this set from last year’s Hulaween. Ross eases into the set with some saucy electro-swing sounds and continues to keep the energy high with some techy garage, UK grime, and more – all while perfectly executing some bold blends. If you’re on the hunt for some not-so-scary sounds, this one is for you.
Toby Ross & Napes @ DnB Allstars Printworks Halloween 2021
Toby Ross and Napes are UK-based producers that are paving the way for the next generation of junglists. Though their discographies are composed of predominantly jungle and breaks, this dynamic duo proved they can blur the line between sub genres at this iconic set from Printworks London. Jarring jungle is sprinkled with dark dubstep and drum and bass, making this one a devilishly good decision.
We all know getting ready is more fun when accompanied by some amazing music, especially if you’re going all out with a creative costume. Whether you’ve got hours of intricate makeup ahead of you, or you’re simply stepping into a onesie, these tunes are sure to get you in the spirit. There are countless other cauldron-worthy sets and mixes to continue your Halloween high, so peep our honorable mentions below! Happy Hawkoween!
