The Governors Ball comes back to the city that never sleeps and unleashes a stellar lineup ahead of their 10th installment. Running from June 5-7, the festival continues on Randall’s Island Park, New York City.
This year’s lineup brings in an array of indie artists, EDM acts, pop singers, and hidden gems. Some headlining names at Governors Ball this year include Flume, Vampire Weekend, Ellie Goulding, Jon Bellion, and Rüfüs Du Sol. Also added to those headliners is a pretty impressive list of heavy hitters such as Madeon, Bleachers, Oliver Tree, and the return of first-year Governors Ball headliner Girl Talk.
What really stands out is the amount of female talent on the lineup. The names include Miley Cyrus, Missy Elliot, Banks, Muna, Stevie Nicks, Marren Morris, Charlotte Lawrence. The list goes on and on.
One surprise is a lack of hip-hop and rap artists on the lineup. In previous years, the New York City-based festival featured headline artists such as Tyler the Creator, Eminem, and Childish Gambino. While rap and hip-hip have definitely taken a backseat, the 2020 lineup still features a decent amount with artists like Danny Brown, Swae Lee, and Earthgang.
With an extremely diverse lineup, Governors Ball will not be a fest to miss this year, especially under that beautiful New York City skyline.
