While we’re welcoming a new year, you may be looking for ways to shake up what you’re listening to. ROSSY‘s HEAVENS DOOR (Remixes) features various genres covered by a handful of diverse artists. Not that ROSSY‘s EP needed any shaking up. Not to mention, she’s graced the stages of Red Rocks, EDSea, North Coast, and many more venues.
Now, let’s open HEAVENS DOOR with these euphoric remixes!
Similar to the original EP, the remix album starts with “ANTHEM – Deadcrow Remix.” It’s electrifying, keeping a few elements from the original track but changed just enough… Although quicker and more intense, it’s electric and magnetic. It immediately hooks us and gets us excited for the remixes to come.
“KARMA (with Jazz Cartier) – Holly Remix” is deep, and everything stays in line with the cutthroat chopping noises in the background. The deep bassline creates perfectly contrasted notes, staying true to ROSSY’s track while splicing the perfect change to the rhythm. This one takes us through outer space – darkness, stars, galaxies, all of it.
“Don’t Say – Baaric Remix” leans into the vocals. Baaric is taking us on a journey leading us into a perfectly paced drop. Quick, but not too quick. It’s wonderful. We bring our heads up from the bassline, and the glittery elements break up synths – allowing us to catch our breath and reflect.
We’re just getting started.
“DIETY – Lightyear Remix” goes hard. It immediately starts with the fierce “I like it like that,” which gets us so excited for what’s to come. We really do like it like that. Quickly building up and intensifying, the chorus leads us into Lightyear’s drop that could wake anyone from a deep sleep and lead them to dance. The energy is fiery and fierce, all the way to the last second.
“LYRA – Cerdin Remix” adds ethereal elements to make this remix extra wavy; as the waves pick us up, a striking tap, tap tap, takes over our ears and sends chills down our spine. Cerdin surely took us on a journey and played on opposite speeds, tempos, and elements to perfectly curate this track from start to finish. To call that a harmonious experience is an understatement.
“HEAVENS DOOR – So Dope Remix” elevates Pauline Herr‘s vocals right off the bat. While the track builds up, so does our anticipation. Pauline Herr’s remix perfectly leads into the intensifying beat. “I don’t want to leave you, I wish I could erase you…” the lyrics are painful but relatable, and So Dope has crafted an electric track that tugs on our heartstrings while bringing up the energy. Tears while dancing = powerful.
What a ride that was – these remixes have crafted a well-rounded album filled with many genres, feelings, and artists. We’re happy to be here and thankful to ROSSY for allowing other artists to explore sounds through ROSSY’s creative direction.
