Diplo & Wax Motif join forces on a spicy new single “Love To The World.” A house tune with a Latin flavor that convinced me to sign up for salsa lessons.
Diplo, aka Thomas Wesley, has a tremendous influence on the electronic music industry. For example: he’s one-half of Jack Ă and Silk City, one-third of LSD, and Major Lazer, and he’s the founder of Mad Decent, a record label that houses names like NGHTMRE, Slander, and Zeds Dead. And that doesn’t even mention the numerous pop artists he’s got producing credits for. In short, Diplo is everywhere.
This time, Thomas teams up with fellow Mad Decent artist Wax Motif. Born Danny Chien, Wax Motif is a DJ/Producer from Australia, and by working with artists like Young Thug, YG, and Ty Dolla $ign, Danny has become a pioneer of the G-House movement.
However, with “Love To The World,” these two go south.
“Love To The World” is an ass-shaking anthem. With very obvious Latin influences, Diplo and Wax Motif bring the heat. Trumpets mesh with saxophones and bongos to create the atmosphere necessary to get any Cinco de Mayo celebration poppin’. This that tequila drunk type-beat. I challenge you to listen to this track, and not YouTube “Salsa Moves for Beginners” immediately afterward. Shakira is somewhere shaking in her boots right now. Hips on honest.
