When Jack Ü was running the EDM world, “Mind” feat. Kai was one of their signature tracks, and we are happy to premiere Slowpalace‘s take on this classic. “Mind” is just one of many anthems from the legendary 2015 album Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü. Now five years later, Slowpalace takes the work of the Skrillex and Diplo duo and reshapes it into a bass house heater. This flip was also Slowpalace’s opener for guest mix for us on Electric Hawk Radio Episode 36.

I chose this song to remix because I’ve always wanted to add my own spin to the song when I heard it back in 2015. It was one of the first electronic songs that I really was amazed and enamored with. The vocal was very dark and poppy and the drop of the original song was just so experimental and unorthodox at the time. However I really wanted to do the song justice and give it a totally new vibe. It took me long to nail it but I was finally able to give this legendary track a proper remix that I feel fully reflects the mood that I was aiming for.

Slowpalace retains the vocals of Kai of Skrillex, but adds his signature FM bass to the drops. He also weaves in a darker, almost electro energy to the track. While the original Jack Ü track had a wide range of experimental sounds, the Slowpalace version of “Mind” keeps it tight with near constant drum kicks that tie everything together.
