Backwoods Music Festival is gearing up for another incredible installment nestled on the hills of Mulberry Mountain. This year, the team curated a top-notch lineup with a stacked workshop schedule and a few surprises. The camping festival collides multiple forms of expression, offering four days to fulfill the body and mind. From an Odyzey takeover to a new live Opiuo experience, Backwoods is sure to meet all of our expectations.
The Top Tier
Backwoods 2024 brings a unique experience with some of our favorite, top-tier artists planning some never-before-seen performances. The festival begins on Thursday, with new live experiences by Opiuo and Jai Wolf. For Friday, we’re ready for a laser-filled set from STS9, getting us in the groove for The Disco Biscuits on Saturday. The exciting collaboration of CloZee and LSDREAM, LSZEE, sets a tone of wonder, expanding our minds for two sets by the beautifully magical TYCHO on Sunday. Closing the festival is the heart-opener, ILLENIUM, known to connect fans through emotive frequencies and love. Still not convinced? Backwoods 2024 is also the first festival San Holo brings his live performance of the recent album, EXISTENTIAL DANCE MUSIC. Let us not forget, the instrumentally inspired electronic duo, Thievery Corporation, who’s consistently served audiences with healing sonics.
It Doesn’t Stop There
With four days to fill, this year’s curation includes genre-diverse artists who bring all different styles to the Ozarks. Multi-faceted artists like Phyphr and Flintwick get ready to bring us two sets, while Boombox plans for a live, DJ combo. However, the excitement doesn’t stop there. We’ll get our booties shaking with electronic artists like Ashez and Wreckno, both known for rumbling bass lines and filthy flows. In addition, lightening up the energy with refreshing tempos is Frameworks, and Future Joy with light-hearted flare.
More Than Music
Backwoods has shaped its community through expressive, musical, and artistic connections. Fostering that connection, they continue their vision with 2024’s curation, adding yoga workshops and sound bath experiences. Aside from Cosmic Soup‘s sound bath offered throughout the four days, the community is also graced with LSDREAM’s sound healing experience, LIGHTCODE, on Saturday afternoon. Looking to branch out even further? Find inner joy through Laughter Yoga with Zipporah or dive into some flow arts with Kinzspinz “Intro to Poi.”
The experience wouldn’t be complete without art and fashion. Vendors and live painters from across the country will have you looking your best while mesmerized. Ohio-based live painter, Stephanie Hylton will have you captivated, with her colorful and vibrant flow state. As you wander, Noralina Freedom Designs can bring your inner goddess alive, with her ethically made and upcycled threads. To tie your outfit together, Third Eye Pinecones offers exquisite, earthy accessories, which are the perfect way to keepsake your Backwood’s energy.
