The 2020 Backwoods lineup seemed too good to be true. And after the past year that was, we had it snatched away right before our eyes. As festivals began to announce, we questioned if Backwoods would even take place this year. In February, the festival announced on Twitter that it would take place. We collectively breathed out a sigh of relief and waited in anticipation of the lineup. And wow, it did not disappoint.

Cheese? G Jones? Shpongle? AND More!?
This lineup has everything we could ask for and more. The headliners are phenomenal, starting with Lotus on Thursday night. Friday features a stacked lineup of Shpongle, Opiuo, G Jones, & Ganja White Night. Then, The String Cheese Incident takes over Saturday night with 2 sets. To close it out, Sunday night winds down with The Floozies, Clozee & Greensky Bluegrass.
While the headliners are fantastic, it would be a crime to simply gloss over the undercard. In terms of electronic music, AC Slater will provide some house. Freddy Todd, Cnopes, mlotik & MOLOKAI will be bringing the weird bass, while Of The Trees & Detox Unit will present their own brand of some of the most cutting-edge music you can find. Also, Zeke Beats will be tearing up the decks. Jam/Funk will also be represented in a strong manner. Sunsquabi, Spafford, Andy Frasco & The UN, plus a lot more, will be rocking it live. Overall, this lineup has something for everybody to enjoy.
Mulberry Mountain is as good as it gets in terms of festival venues.
With a capacity of only 4,500 people (as of the latest update in February), Backwoods should be extra intimate this year. Doubling as the Wakaan Festival venue, Mulberry Mountain has shown time and time again that it is at or near the top of the list when it comes to festival venues. The fresh mountain air and the serene sunrises and sunsets add to the beauty of this already marvelous festival. The late August weather could be perfect, as fall in Arkansas will be right around the corner. Make sure you don’t wait too long; tickets will be gone before you know it. See y’all on the mountain.
