LA-based Vindata just delivered …With Opened Eyes, a powerful debut LP. The album’s mission? Uplift Black artists in dance music, reflect and shed light on the challenges that shaped them, and bring groove and diversity back to the dancefloor. …With Opened Eyes from Vindata is out via Monstercat.
The 12-track album flows from song to song seamlessly, with each track effortlessly telling its story and maintaining its uniqueness. Blending soul influences from their upbringing in the church with rich basslines, captivating melodies, and a flawless production quality, Vindata has created an album that is relatable, danceable, and meaningful.
After setting out to produce Hip hop, Vindata entered the electronic culture only to notice that Black artists were frequently missing from lineups, even though dance music’s roots are firmly planted in Black tradition. Setting out to change the landscape of dance music, Vindata uses …With Open Eyes to communicate deeply personal stories, hoping to uplift other Black creators across the industry.
The creation of this entire album has been a long process. It really challenged us in new ways. But, it was rewarding at the same time because it personified who we truly are as artists and as individuals. Weâre incredibly thankful for all the blessings AND hardships that helped get us here. And weâre humbled to be able to share these experiences with the world.
