Boundary-breaking bass artist CHEE is starting 2021 off with a bang by delivering his sophomore EP, Paralysis Analysis, on Deadbeats. This 5 track sonic experience is exploding with the one-of-a-kind innovation that could only come from the mind of this rising star.
Put your brain on autopilot and let CHEE take it from here.
Quickly emerging as one of electronic music’s most avant-garde creators, South African Born CHEE has been re-defining what it means to create bass music since his arrival on the scene in 2017. Catching the attention of heavyweights like G JONES and NOISIA with his attention to detail as well as his state-of-the-art sound design, this young visionary has already made a sizable impact on the industry.
Spearheaded by the bone-shaking lead single “Turn Up,” Paralysis Analysis comes correct with nearly twenty minutes of experimental cuts paired with cutting-edge production. “Operator Bludgeoning” lives up to its name with glitchy synths and bone-crushing bass. Whilst “Wallflower” does anything but blend in. Never before heard “Lid on the Squid” gives us dark discovery channel energy, coupling eerie vocals with a churning bassline.
“I was elated to have my good friend African Ginger work on the art for “Turn Up” and later have the opportunity to work with him on the final EP art. I wanted the recurring theme to be a feeling of restraint & the need to escape, but partially being paralyzed by one’s own mind. The process of overanalyzing, causing one to freeze and be a prisoner of their own thoughts. I think a lot of people can relate to that feeling, especially after this last year, and I feel the art does the perfect job portraying that internal conflict a lot of us face daily.”

Rounding out the EP is “Fight Club,” the heavily anticipated genre-bending collab with Mr. Carmack. This drum-heavy banger merges half-time and trap elements as well as distinctive vocal samples to create a unique track that allows each artist’s signature style to shine.
