It’s happening! Next year, we’re blessed with a Barclay Crenshaw 2024 tour, Open Channel, in honor of his forthcoming album. That’s right, we said album!
The artiste behind the alias, Claude VonStroke, is embarking on a significant shift in career path, a new era of collective musical exploration. Similarly, VonStroke’s transition to Crenshaw pays tribute to his artistic origins, such as avant-garde bass, hip hop, and more. Since 2017, the Barclay Crenshaw sound has evolved while keeping pace with the dynamic electronic music scene. The response to his plans of moving away from house music and diving into the realms of bass music has been very enthusiastic, and rightfully so!
“I dig, and I dig through countless genres and experiment so that you don’t have to. I want to play new music that makes you say, ‘Wow.’ Your algorithmic playlist is just a formula that echoes songs you like until you are completely pigeonholed. Let’s start a community of explorers that connects over great tunes and isn’t controlled by computers.”
– Barclay Crenshaw
The undeniably anticipated album, Open Channel, is a testament to discipline and creativity. It took weeks of a transformative process rooted in daily beat-making and meditation until he redefined the Barclay Crenshaw identity. The goal is to build a space for fans to explore the altering electronic music world through open channels. Crenshaw’s album is set to debut in the Spring of 2024, but the first song will be released in early January! As a matter of fact, pre-save the single, “Big In The Game (ft. Snowy & Manga Saint Hilare),” here!
With Open Channel, Barclay Crenshaw celebrates the unconventional and the bold.
From March to May 2024, the 13-stop tour will grace the stages of many renowned venues, like NYC’s Webster Hall, Chicago’s Concord Music Hall, and The North Warehouse in Portland. Each performance is tailored to invite the attendees into the dynamic world of Barclay Crenshaw’s music. Additionally, he’s teaming up with Gabriel Hall, also known as LightBender, who is a master at projection mapping. Hall and Crenshaw’s decade-long bond will certainly add a visual flair to the Open Channels tour.

Not only are the tour’s visuals otherworldly, but also the supporting acts are just as dreamy. FLY, Super Future, and LYNY will ignite the crowd through their effervescent stage presence. Also, EPROM‘s cutting-edge music technology will impress, as always. tiedye ky and his whimsical lyrics will have everyone swooning. Likewise, Great Dane, Sicaria, and Shiny Things add the perfect zest to an already stacked lineup.
The diversity of the tour alone is enough for us to be excited! So, snag those Open Channel tickets soon because it sounds like 2024 will be the year of Barclay Crenshaw.
