We’re still buzzing over the festivities of last weekend in Chicagoland! Lunar Tide 2023 undeniably surpassed all of our expectations. There was sure to be chaos with a lineup like that, but instead, it was two blissful days that we wish we could relive.

As soon as the doors to the Lakehurst Event Center open, we’re instantly met with a face full of bass. It felt good to be back! The familiar Lunar Stage was animated with rows and rows of vendors and live painters; the crisp HSD sound system shook the foundation while the dancefloor began to fill. Meanwhile, the DubHub x Bass Station takeover was just as lively in the next room. The dark, secluded warehouse vibes complimented the stage and was also the perfect spot to discover new up-and-coming artists. Likewise, the second floor was bustling with attendees as well! The Solar Stage looked better than ever, especially equipped with a triple stack of Element 5’s. Surprisingly, the building didn’t cave in from the insane amount of drum and bass that graced the Solar Stage for hours.

Speaking of drum and bass… that Bou set, though!?

The effervescent atmosphere paired perfectly with the lineup that put a lot of others to shame. Each year, every artist brings their A-game to Lunar Tide, and this past weekend was no different.

On Friday, Anna Morgan had the crowd doing high knees early on. Then, all three Ternion Sound boys showed up and showed out, too! Later in the night, Hamdi unleashed his goofy energy upstairs on the E5s. And, of course, Shades concluded the evening with a brain-scrambling set.

Saturday night started with a bang as Jitch opened up the Lunar Stage, followed by a very groovy Whom? set. Saka threw out ID after ID and intoxicated the crowd with his passionate stage presence. Not to mention, the Solar Stage was alive with dnb as Visages left us in awe. Last but certainly not least, everyone gathered for an unforgettable Of The Trees production.

Atmosphere, music, and what else? The people! Events like this wouldn’t be possible without the attendees, staff, and everyone in between. The NSW Presents team did a fantastic job of listening to the concerns of day one and making changes so that we could come back better than ever for day two. It’s essential for festival-goers to feel safe and heard; props to NSW for doing exactly that. The overflowing sense of community was palpable all weekend. Cheers to a successful Lunar Tide 2023! Xoxo
