Electric Hawk’s favorite extraterrestrial is back! AHEE has teleported us once again with BassQuest Vol. II. The newest release on his imprint Zot Records, BassQuest Vol. II is a genre-blending EP that pushes the boundaries of bass music.
The EP starts off with “Flyah” – a mesmerizing collab with SubDocta that blends uplifting arpeggios with rumbling basses. AHEE is not afraid to explore old sounds and new – ‘Flyah’ combines that classic dub flow with an unrelenting bassline. A roller coaster of sound design that sends us off with hypersonic adrenaline.
Up next, sit back and “Smoke A Blunt.” Prepare yourself to get swirled into this hypnotic groove as AHEE and Stylust fuse intoxicating rhythms with a speaker-busting bass. This joint brings blazing energy from the start and is sure to spark up the dancefloor.
Want to get nasty? Filthy wubs ahead with “D4NCE” – a ferocious heater that’ll immediately have you movin’. The catchy groove is complimented by even catchier vocals, highlighting the best of both AHEE and WonkyWilla. Gimme a chance to dance!
AHEE’s BassQuest Continues
Once we reach the latter half of the EP the energy is not slowing down. “Hit The Rhythm” showcases AHEE and SoDown’s production mastery. What starts with an emotional orchestral sample quickly shifts into a fat trap beat. Next thing you know, a bass house banger is lighting your feet on fire. Electric hooks drive the momentum in a track that does not hold back any punches.
“I’m headed your direction!” Another switch-up as AHEE drops the DnB stunner with Manic Focus – ‘Connection.’ The high-voltage track fuses heady drums and rumbling basses, carried by infectious melodic interludes. By this point in the EP, AHEE has already taken us on a genre-defying BassQuest. A masterclass in heavy dance music.
AHEE caps off BassQuest Vol. II by giving us the perfect closer with Dirtwire and Honeycomb. “Alien Dirt” is the kind of dubstep you want to hear as you’re floating on a summer riverboat. With a jaw harp melody that perfectly accentuates AHEE’s intergalactic aesthetic, these 3 incredible artists manage to craft a tune that’s both familiar and transcendant.
