At the core of every Inner Circle event is a new experience: that moment when the space is no longer a show; it’s a living room. A stranger chatting with you on a dance floor, a DJ talking in the middle of the room rather than over the audience, and a bartender who already knows your favorite drink – that is what Inner Circle’s atmosphere is.
Since Jordan Walbecq and Connor Sweeney founded Inner Circle three years ago with partners Will Price and Lucas Carpenter, Inner Circle has quietly established itself as a monumental part of Denver’s underground scene. With a variety of house, tech, and dubstep genres, they don’t look to compete for the largest venue, the biggest names, or the most ticket sales. It’s about community, not competing for the biggest venues, but creating a comfortable, intimate atmosphere.
In our conversation, the four founders/partners talked about their journey, their aversion to anything “thrown together,” and their dream of creating a space that builds trust. Long before Inner Circle formed, Jordan and Connor’s friendship continued to positively impact their lives and the lives of those around them. Shortly thereafter, Will and Lucas joined the team, further solidifying the group’s dedication to building an authentic community, rather than just throwing events.

Inside Inner Circle’s Intentional Approach
“Our intention was never to be the biggest show,” they said. “We wanted to create something that was integral to the local music community—something special that could not be duplicated.” They were fans first and foremost, which is something that permeates all aspects of their work.
When talking about Inner Circle, you won’t hear terms like “event company”. It’s all about their “3 pillars,” as they say: Music, Location, and Community. This philosophy shows up in small ways before it appears in larger projects. With Inner Circle, each event is based around the music that fits the room, the location itself, and the people we think would enjoy the experience there. These three pillars define a successful show or moment, guiding how we determine the best possible experience.
The team values feedback strongly and constantly refines events. The objective is not to merely replicate what has been created, but to nurture something unique that can’t be found anywhere else. “It’s not about fitting into one box,” they said, and in fact, they’ve worked with a variety of genres: house, tech, dubstep, etc.
More than sound, the mood matters too: how you feel in one room, the feel of your crowd, the atmosphere of the room. Each event is meticulously planned, and long-term thinking is essential. This allows each Inner Circle event to be truly remarkable—one that will become a piece of memorabilia, not just another show you have gone to or just another artist you have seen.

It Takes a Village to Build the Circle
As you know, the team often says it takes a village. The Inner Circle team puts considerable work into making each event feel effortless, handling countless emails, conducting quality checks, and carefully planning every detail before securing a venue. Team members and colleagues must be patient with both time and the people who do it.
Once the team secures a venue, they coordinate every element needed to make the night successful, from security to production. Their professional team approaches every detail, no matter how small, as an essential part of the creative process. “We are so excited for everyone,” they say, and “everyone” includes everyone from the audience to the venue staff, artists to partners, and all who contribute to the experience.
This is a passion project for people who juggle day jobs and their passion for creating exceptional events. The team carefully navigates the financial demands of producing each high-quality gathering. “It’s not just thrown together,” they say, and trust—in the crowd, within the team, and in each venue—is the foundation of their brand.
Cultivating Growth Naturally
What binds their vision is an intention not to grow too quickly. Inner Circle has no interest in becoming an overnight festival brand or following anyone else’s model for building a collective. Instead, they’re building their brand organically, one big night, one new venue, and one long-term partnership at a time. They see themselves as event producers who create the kinds of moments that become shared memories: the “remember when?” stories we all know and love from going to shows. They refuse to sacrifice that intimacy for bigger venues or more prominent logos.
The idea sounds simple but often proves difficult to execute: create something so meaningful to the local community that no one could duplicate it.
Once You’re In, You’re Part of the Circle
On August 23rd, Moodswing’s Inner Circle event brought another memorable night with Mersiv and friends, Smoakland (Liquid Smoak), VEIL, and Lucasso. With sound design and heavy bass energy, the community of fans who come back to every event for these intimate, curated nights made it an impeccable experience. You won’t find anything like the energy you’ll feel at an Inner Circle event; it’s not like attending any ordinary event. You’ll see discovery, connection, and an atmosphere unlike any other. Keep your eyes peeled for the next Inner Circle event; you will not want to miss it.
