For the last decade, The Crawnic has grown from a backyard-style gathering into one of Denver’s most recognizable underground event traditions, blending bass music, live art, and Southern food culture into something entirely its own.

Now, The Crawnic returns to celebrate its 10-year anniversary on May 17 at The Matchbox in Denver with two stages, a stacked lineup, and the same community-driven energy that’s carried the event since day one.
Since the original “Craw-Nic” launched in Denver on June 18, 2016, the event has expanded through editions in Denver, Austin, and New Orleans, alongside SXSW appearances, block parties, and collaborative crawfish boil battles over the years.
Across that decade, artists like Chris Karns, Backwhen, M!NGO, Honeycomb, and Buck Rodgers have helped shape The Crawnic’s identity through bass-heavy sets, turntablism, and unforgettable performances that turned first-time attendees into regulars. This year’s anniversary lineup brings several of those familiar names back into the mix, including Chris Karns, Backwhen B2B M!NGO, and DigitalLoveJoint, along with Azon Classic, Imperivm, Yasmeen, IAMGRUV, Destiny Shynelle, Sin7, Froztwr3ck, and Butl3r.
And of course, the crawfish is still at the center of it all.
Bouxku Lanyap Seafood Coterie has remained the resident boiler throughout the years, helping establish the event’s signature food experience as a core part of The Crawnic culture right alongside the music itself.

This celebration also continues The Crawnic’s long-running collaborations within Denver’s independent scene. Denver Kush Club returns in support after backing the event since 2021, while Karma Brands and Keef Brands join as new sponsors. Purple Mammoth Sound will handle sound production, with live art from Ashley Blocker and photography by Brizzzle throughout the event.
What has kept people coming back for ten years isn’t just the lineup or the crawfish boil. It’s the atmosphere The Crawnic creates every time it returns: a space where bass heads, visual artists, Denver creatives, and foodies all end up grooving under the same low-end frequencies.
Ten years later, that energy is still going strong.
