Silver Silver is officially everyone’s new guilty pleasure. Kid Froopy gave the people exactly what they needed right now. Thirty-four minutes of pure nostalgia. For the best listening experience, try it in your car alone, screaming every word and ugly crying.
Des Moines, Iowa native, Kid Froopy, showcases every ounce of talent he possesses with this 11-track album, out now via Deadbeats. Each track written, performed, and produced by Froopy himself. Combining elements from 70’s rock to electronic to indie-pop, Silver Silver is something completely unique.
From the opening track “New In Town” you can instantly tell this album will stand in a league of its own.
Kid Froopy’s falsettos immediately come in, delivering vocals that are faint yet warming. Much like the entire album, Froopy fills this track with addictive beats, catchy melodies, and lush production.
Another favorite of ours, “Hairy” is a total melodic ballad. With a simple message that somehow is delivered in the most cutting way.
Finishing out the album with “Greenbelt,” where Kid Froopy ties the whole record together by genuinely opening up. With a hopeful beat that’s perfect for decompressing your feelings. “Greenbelt” is the perfect close to this 11-track journey.
Kid Froopy’s rawness, realness, and genuine talent shined through with Silver Silver. It’s like Toro y Moi and LANY had a dreamy synth-pop love child. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect debut album.
