Salt Lake City based hollow moon has returned with her debut EP, celestial, released today. The two track EP highlights what seems to be her signature yet subtle sound – deep, dark, reflective, dreamy techno.
We’re going on a trip in our favorite rocket ship – and it belongs to hollow moon.
Appropriately named track, “ethereal beauty” and title track “celestial” are tremendously complementary, yet remain unique. Each exudes its own set of feelings and movements, communicating a hypnotic eleven-minute journey through the galaxy.
“ethereal beauty” is a brighter, more bass driven track with wispy yet crisp percussion, making your ears tingle and your heart match the consistent hammer of the beat.
A maze of entrancement, “celestial” leads you from a winding melodic intro to classic techno keys and shockingly beautiful harmonies. A rich but deep bassline at the halfway point of “celestial” is the perfect development in this track. If it doesn’t immediately perk your ears from the deep trance hollow moon had you in… you might be dead.
hollow moon busted into the techno scene with the release of her flip, “Arcus” by RL Grime and Graves. She’s also been featured as the premiere artist on our Uncaged series. This techno goddess has continually proven herself to be a producer to watch, with the ear to curate amazing mixes as well as the talent to create unique tunes.
Looking forward, catch hollow moon in Salt Lake City on April 16 with Lavender God and Donny Carr at Soundwell. Soon after, she will be in the Denver area on April 18 providing support for StéLouse and brothel. at the Larimer Lounge.
hollow moon is also included on the Earwig Music Festival lineup, a Discord festival hosted by Deathpact and raising funds for DanceSafe. Tune in on April 21 to support amazing artists like hollow moon, along with an amazing organization like DanceSafe, using this link.
