Dancefestopia is a consistently fantastic experience, and we expect nothing less for its tenth anniversary in 2022. Hosted in La Cygne, Kansas (one hour south of Kansas City), DFT has immaculate vibes, a beautiful venue, and a killer lineup. The madness starts on Tuesday, September 6th and goes all day and all night through Sunday, September 11th.
The 2022 event features 210 artists – with a large majority of the acts coming from the Yellow Brick Road Tour. This tour gives budding artists the opportunity to compete for a spot on the lineup, and most of the winners are playing at a music festival for the first time.
While we wish we could feature all 210 artists, we’ve selected a few that you have to see.
First up: Kumarion brings drum and bass to Dancefestopia 2022.
Our dnb king! Kumarion plays on Saturday afternoon so make plans to head to the Emerald Stage early for his set at 2:50 pm. Check out his latest two-track EP on Wakaan:
Next on our list: Huxley Anne.
Playing at the Thursday pre-party, Huxley Anne will set the stage for the experimental lovers at DFT. We’ve never seen her live before, so she is definitely a top priority for us. She would be a shame to miss.
Friday on the Lollipop Stage deserves its very own shoutout.
The Lollipop Stage kicks off hot and heavy late-night vibes with Phase One followed by an extended set from Truth, into The Widdler, followed by G-Space, and ending with a Yheti Sunrise set. Yeah… we’re about to get weird and wild on Friday night into the early hours of Saturday morning.
On Sunday, we are super stoked for Jeanie, a Phantoms DJ set, and an Elderbrook Sunset Set.
The last-day-of-the-festival feels are always spot on at Dancefestopia and this year, Jeanie will give us the energy to start our final day. Phantoms and Elderbrook will keep us moving and then give our brains a much-needed dance massage.
We’d be remiss to leave out some Kansas City locals we’ll definitely be making time to see.
