The countdown is over, and our favorite lover boy, tiedye ky, unmasks his nü album, This Is The Part Where. This marks his latest album release since 2022; not only is it his most innovative and artistic, but TDK also claims it’s his best work to date, and we have no choice but to agree!
So far, tiedye ky has been thriving this year with multiple festival appearances, direct support for stellar shows, and even showcased his live band sets at a few legendary venues. Additionally, he recently embarked on a nationwide tour with his bestie, Potions. This well-deserved success is the epitome of just doing what you love and doing it genuinely. So, let’s take a peek inside TDK’s world of zeace and compassion that he has lovingly bestowed upon us.

This collection is a testament to TDK’s versatility and shows how easily he can evoke emotion simply through his lyrics. Each track has a different style, whether that’s elements of punk rock, a talented rapper, or a soothing melody, yet they all weave together perfectly. Another charming aspect of this unique release is how his multiple talents are combined into one. For example, the single covers and the album cover were hand-crafted on paper and then translated into digital images, how cool is that? Overall, these songs are a reminder to be unapologetically yourself and take risks, such as tiedye ky has done with This Is The Part Where.
May Zeace Be With You ☆✌︎
First up is a beautiful ballad, “Online Peace Offering.“ The lyrics and soothing instrumental blissfully intertwine like the hues of a sunset coming to life. The album starts strong with a track that embodies TDK’s warm lover-boy essence. Instinctively, we sway along, from start to finish, as the journey has just begun.
Next, the tempo increases a bit with “I Need Someone.“ A chill prelude transforms into excited notes cascading like sunbeams breaking through on a cloudy day. It’s giving golden retriever energy – happy and full of life! Luckily, tiedye ky sings on most of these tracks, which is a treat on its own. Save this song for an extra oomph of cheer on a sunny day.
Similarly, “Ur Ghost” is just as lively! To me, this song represents angst and letting go of your frustrations. TDK lets loose with hectic guitar riffs and punk rock vocals.
Live out your marvel years, it’s all in your head.
Our journey continues with “Waterfalls,“ a sentimental tune that exhibits what tiedye ky does best: pull at our heartstrings. Slow and steady, we glide through the eclectic cadence as he reminds us that there’s no sunshine without the f*ckin’ rain.
After “Waterfalls” comes “Zeace,“ the first track released before the album and a new term that fellow TDK fans have since adopted. This is another heartfelt serenade, and it’s quickly become a fan favorite. It’s comforting and has words we can all resonate with.

This Is The Part Where becomes more and more inspiring the longer we indulge.
Halfway through, we’ve arrived at “Living In The Loudness.“ This track is a personal favorite, especially since it features JAWNZA, whose flow can effortlessly match any vibe. These two going back-to-back on a song exudes an incredible amount of swagger. The singing, rapping, and groovy beat all rolled into one is proof of both of their adaptability.
Now, let’s get prepped for battle because “War Dubz (Interlude)” is up next. It was a great time to be alive when producers from all over were calling each other out to make these. Surely, for many of those artists, it was the first time in a while that they created something fun and uninhibited. In other words, it’s a pleasure that this clip made it onto the album!
As mentioned before, tiedye ky put in an absurd amount of effort and creativity when constructing This Is The Part Where. Each pre-released single was accompanied by a silly, original video clip, including “Another Chance.“ His talented and very good friend, Esseks, joins him on this upbeat track. These two creating together is a force to be reckoned with! “Another Chance” is so jubilant, with fluttering boops and beeps mimicking the joyous times that they have together, which is also captured in the video clip.
Likewise, “Bloom” is just as lighthearted. The birds chirping at the very beginning instantly teleports us to a radiant spring day. It’s quite amazing how a few computer noises intricately wound together can create such a vivid scene. Bloom like a flower… start again. There’s truly not a dull moment in this compilation.
Following is a familiar tune, “They Wanna Dance.“ Here is where TDK really amps up the energy! Plus, the title is not wrong because this one will have you up and dancing! The echoes merged with a bass-boosted bassline is a lot all at once but in the best way possible.
We’re almost to the end of our adventure, and “Iced Out Opals” with Just Neeks is a family affair that we cannot skip. The slurred melody draws us in, hypnotizing. Already expecting this one to have multiple appearances in sets across the country because sheesh. Just Neeks is about to have everyone on the dance floor screaming, “ICED OUT OPALS! DO I KNOW YOU?” and we’re here for it. Last but definitely not least is “While Time Stops / Little Flame.“ The cohesiveness of this album is impeccable because, in this closing number, the chants match the ones heard in the intro. A full circle moment. A poetic and graceful end to our journey. If there’s one thing about a TDK album, it’s going to be special.
All in all, This Is The Part Where is a multifaceted album to match a multifaceted artist. tiedye ky made it cool to be yourself, to be vulnerable, and we find that so admirable. If this delicately crafted masterpiece resonated with you as it did with us, please consider supporting TDK on his last leg of the tour, and stay up-to-date on all things tiedye ky by following his socials below!
P.S. Don’t forget his loving words, but if you do, simply put this album on shuffle and dance and sing until you remember exactly who you are.
