“Chroma Dream embodies a vibrant kaleidoscope of melodies and rhythms, painting a musical canvas that’s as adventurous as it is eclectic. Like stepping into a dream where the familiar becomes fantastical, the new album invites listeners into a celebration of influences colliding, of boundaries dissolving, and of daring to embrace the full palette of emotion and creativity.”

– Poldoore

This is Poldoore’s first release with Philos Records, nevertheless, he has played alongside many artists on the label at festivals. Some of these include Sonic Bloom, Secret Dreams, and Submersion. He even released a track with an Electric Hawk favorite, Late Night Radio. After getting to know all the Philos artists, including Jordan Wengler, who runs the label, this was the perfect musical fit.

Exploring the Sound and Style of Chroma Dream

Chroma Dream begins with a track called “Look into My Eyes. It was released as the first of three singles for this album. The song features a longtime friend — Will Magid, professionally known as Balkan Bump. Their first collaboration goes all the way back to 2014 with the release of “Unconditional” from The Day Off, one of Poldoore’s earliest albums.

Another artist featured on the album is Rotem Sivan, a jazz guitarist. He delivers a beautiful performance in the track “Soliloquy Interlude. This tranquil interlude provides a moment of calm before the metamorphosis of the album’s second half. The interlude smoothly transitions into the title track “Chroma Dream. It perfectly sets the vibe for the album with and without words.

Every song on this album stands out in its own unique way. However, it would be a dishonor not to speak on the incredible run of the final three tracks. “Two For One” is a reggae groove that hits in all the right places. In his live album premiere, he mentioned he is a huge dub fan. Listening fans bantered about a full “Poldub” album, and Poldoore teased the possibility. Poldoore, if you’re wondering, yes, we definitely want it!

Keeping his two favorites for last, “Landmark” has a mysterious aura with Reindert Spanhove on the saxophone. Ending out the album with “Step Outside, this is another track fans will want to keep on their Hawk Radar. It’s an incredible song to leave off on, saying goodbye but leaving listeners wanting more. It continues with a mystic aura. It’s a question that needs an answer. All that can be done with this musical cliffhanger is to catch Poldoore on tour. While not officially announced, there have been hints at U.S. and Europe shows in the works for the second half of this year. Until then, we’re moving to the beat.
