In their latest collaborative EP, Low Key Technique, Kursa and Alicia Kiah fuse intricate hardware production with sweeping violin compositions to build a world that feels both cinematic and deeply immersive. What unfolds is less a collection of tracks and more a transformative journey. One that blurs the line between technical mastery and emotional storytelling.

Now immerse yourself in the magical journey that Kursa and Alicia Kiah share with everyone.

On โ€œCoral Blue,โ€ the pair lean into an ominous, gelatinous low end, basslines that wobble and stretch like wonky jello beneath your feet, while Kiahโ€™s melodies shimmer above. The result is paradoxically weightless and warm. Itโ€™s the sensation of drifting through deep ocean currents, suspended in a blue abyss as schools of fish flicker around you. Thereโ€™s a buoyancy to the groove that feels both playful and immersive, encapsulating a glow from within that subtly brightens your orbit.

โ€œFallingโ€ pivots the journey skyward. Rapid, vibrant violin phrases arc through the atmosphere, evoking the rush of ascent before gravity gently reclaims you. Fluttering strings weave through jubilant synths and elastic basslines, each element interlocking with kinetic precision. The track blooms with color and movement, cradling you in its momentum before gradually dimming the lights. As the tones darken toward the close, the mood shifts, less triumphant, more introspective, preparing you for the next descent.

That descent lands in the shadowed terrain of โ€œIgnium.โ€ Here, eerie plucks pulse faster and faster, tension mounting until the declaration โ€œHere we go!โ€ fractures the soundscape. What follows is a distorted metamorphosis: glitching textures splinter and reassemble, as if the sonic environment is reshaping itself in real time. Itโ€™s a masterclass in dynamic sound design, balancing emotional atmosphere with technical prowess. Kursa and Alicia Kiah donโ€™t just build tension; they sculpt it, bending it into something alive.

The journey concludes with โ€œBioluminescence,โ€ a fitting finale that glows with quiet resilience. Shimmering tones rise gently from the depths, the violin and production entwined in elegant symmetry. It feels like emerging from darkness into your own soft radiance. A reminder that even in shadow, light persists. As the final notes dissolve, the EP leaves you suspended in that glow, encouraged to seek out your own brilliance and savor the world you inhabit.
