The charitable arm of Insomniac Events, Insomniac Cares, is partnering with HeadCount to promote voter registration and participation.

The aim of the initiative? To empower all electronic music fans 18 and over to register and VOTE in the upcoming November election.

It’s important that we in the dance music community come together to make our voices heard.

Pasquale Rotella, Founder and CEO, Insomniac

Through Insomniac’s “CHECK, REGISTER, VOTE” campaign, fans are encouraged to go to insom.co/vote to CHECK if they’re registered to vote, REGISTER if they’re not already registered, and VOTE on November 3. Insomniac will promote the campaign during its continuing livestream series. Find their livestreams on their Twitch channel!

You may have seen HeadCount at your favorite festival.

HeadCount is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that promotes participation in democracy through music, culture, and media. They have registered over 650,000 (!!!!!!) voters, manage over 40,000 volunteers, and are present at more than 1,000 events each year. HeadCount ranks as one of the most active grassroots civic participation organizations in the United States.

So why should you vote?

Voting isn’t just about the presidency. It’s about the national legislature, the Supreme Court, about your state and local representatives, and judicial systems. If your representative is making choices that you don’t like, first, contact them and let them know. After that, head to the polls!

Think about how your local government has responded to the Coronavirus pandemic. Love it? Then, vote to keep them in office. Hate it? Vote them out! Elections have consequences, and you can help to determine the next direction for our communities, state, and country.

Many Americans are dangerously underrepresented in both voter turnout and elected office. Voter turnout in the most recent (2018) election was just 53%. But for youth? Much worse. Only 32% of 18-24-year-old’s rocked the vote in 2018 (source).

We can help to create change in many ways – donating, activism, educating – and VOTING.

Don’t forget to CHECK, REGISTER, and VOTE with Insomniac and HeadCount HERE.

Together, we can move toward representation and creating a system that works for everyone. It starts with you!
