FLY carves his lane at the intersection of heavy bass, hip-hop energy, and experimental sound design. Accompanying us is his newest flip, “Sippin,” releasing Wednesday, February 4th.

Based in Los Angeles, FLY is a visionary bass music producer who continues to push genre boundaries. Accordingly, he builds his sound on modern bass culture, driven by momentum and attitude. FLY notoriously flips familiar hip-hop and electronic elements into new weapons for the dance floor, delivering explosive drops, razor-sharp edits, and a heavy low-end that defines his style. From massive festival systems to everyday headphones, his productions hit every time, and “Sippin” is absolutely no exception.
We start immediately in a trance, drawn in through euphoric singing and fantastical storytelling. Bass notes drive through and set the tone as the background synths pick up. We hear the vocals start to loop as the intensity increases, eviscerating the rhythm into an organic buildup of distorted synth and bass. One last atmospheric addition before finally releasing us into flow state. Soft yet crispy hi-hats help guide our soar through the clouds. Natural song progression leads us into the experimental sound design that we’ve come to love from FLY. “One-e-and-a, two-e-and-a” is how we follow along to the extremely dope cadence “Sippin” showcases.
