Em has consistently been one of our favorite underground producers. Based out of Michigan, he pulls inspiration from the likes of ODESZA, G Jones, and Bassnectar and has crafted his own unique sound best described as “emotional downtempo.”

“Dances with You” is the newest single from his upcoming debut album, “Within,” and it’s beautiful.
We urge you to unplug, close your eyes, and lose yourself in the blissful melody. When talking with Em, he commented, “I actually wrote that song for my girlfriend after seeing ODESZA at Forest with her. And I just remember thinking these are some of my favorite moments I’ll experience, dancing the nights away with someone I care about.”
This song has a way of dissolving your troubles and bringing you into the present moment. An Alan Watts quote from “Music and Life” is amidst the intricate layers of rich synths and percussion.
“We thought of life by analogy with a journey, a pilgrimage, which had a serious purpose at the end, and the thing was to get to that end, success or whatever it is, maybe heaven after you’re dead. But we missed the point the whole way along. It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing or to dance while the music was being played.”
Alan Watts
It leads up to a cinematic drop that ties everything together perfectly. We’re really enjoying this single, and it goes without say that we’re looking forward to hearing the full album.
