The Denver community came together for a powerful night of music, solidarity, and collective action.
The organization Dance Without Borders held an event that raised $2,476, with 100% of proceeds donated to Colorado Rapid Response and the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee. Featuring a stacked lineup and local vendors, the night proved the city’s scene thrives on purpose as much as sound.

Who is Dance Without Borders?

Dance Without Borders is a women-run organization that aims to uplift the community by supporting those negatively impacted by current political events. With just two founding members, Taylor Bourns and Taysha Silva, they host grassroots fundraisers that address our community’s current needs. Their main goal is to create a safe, inclusive environment where the music community can come together, dance, share resources, and spread awareness of the current political atmosphere. Nonetheless, whenever you attend an event, you are surrounded by others who share our values, particularly regarding human rights.

Already making a huge impact with their first fundraiser!

Dance Without Borders hosted its first fundraiser on February 6th at Bar Red in Denver. The event raised $2,476, with 100% of proceeds donated to Colorado Rapid Response and the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee. Prior to the night, the lineup was kept secret from attendees. The final lineup featured some of Denver’s Finest Bass artists. Performances from Lita Lotus, Journey, Barooka, Chef Boyarbeatz b2b Hypho (DDD), Starfox, and Dotson b2b Send Help, delivering a dynamic night rooted in community and intention.

Beyond the music, the event was supported by a diverse group of vendors and collaborators. Vendors and collaborators include Amorphous Wire Wraps, Mikey J Productions (custom apparel and a raffle-exclusive hoodie), Martin of Sacred Soul Tattoo (live painting), Baking Skoda (baked goods and a $100 gift card raffle), Denver PSL (Party for Socialism and Liberation), and SDS (Students for a Democratic Society). KMA Productions provided full production support, helping bring the evening to life. And lastly, both BRAXX Media and TJ Legler were photographing throughout the night, ensuring everyone had a lasting memory.

The impact that occurs when the community comes together

This wasn’t simply about throwing a party or hosting a show; it was about purpose. It was about creating space where people feel seen, supported, and connected to something larger than themselves, where walls fall away, and only music, movement, and community remain. In a time when the world feels increasingly fractured, the value of spaces like this cannot be overstated. We need each other to celebrate, to uplift, and to remember that our collective strength is always greater than standing alone.

This marks only the beginning for the Dance Without Borders crew. As they are already planning their next fundraiser, the duo has demonstrated the importance of community. Naturally showing the Denver scene, there is so much collective strength amongst one another. As a community, we just need to continue to be vocal and stand together.
