On May 17, Covex released his full-length album “Oscillate” with Seeking Blue. This album shows us a unique perspective on Covex’s introspective journey in his life and as an artist. Producer Brandon Bell is back and better than ever with a full album compiling his recent EPs, “Luna” and “Solis” while adding tracks to the mix that tug on our heartstrings.
To kick off the launch of the album, Covex hosted an album release party in Denver at Larimer Lounge. Honoring his roots, Covex hosted a competition to find local artists to open for this show. Artists Kerv and Gloomi got the energy going at Larimer Lounge before Covex took the stage. Hundreds of people gathered to hear him play this new album from front to back, DJ style. Before he started, he mentioned the significance of the album name, to Oscillate between emotions. It was great to hear this incredible album live and to see Covex’s producing skills in action.

Let’s listen to and honor Covex’s experiences by hearing the new tracks on the album.
Disk One eases us into the project. “First Light” has fluttery elements that let our minds wander as it sets the stage for what’s to come. Speaking to the name of the track, it really is the First Light.
Enter: “Easy For Me.” High energy and attention-grabbing, we’ve arrived. Words that come to our minds? Ethereal, magical, iridescent… Should we keep going? Covex’s perfectly blended vocals and energetic beat lead perfectly into the chorus. Even when the track slows down, the energy stays high, gently leading us into the next track.
“Another Night” is boppy, bubbly, and welcoming. Fi Sullivan’s vocals captivate us with lyrics that we’ve all felt before. “I wish I had you just for another night.” Fueled by emotions that leave you feeling raw, this track does the opposite; Filling us with emotions, from our headphones right into our hearts.
“Need You” is slower, allowing us to catch our breath. Covex’s vocals gently float throughout the track as they echo perfectly in the background. Naturey elements are fluttering in the background, creating an experience from start to finish.
Let’s flip over to Oscillate Disk Two…
“Dusk (Better For You)” sets the scene for us. We imagine this would be playing through our headphones or speakers during dusk, before the storm…
“Power” is just as the title implies – powerful. Yianna’s vocals disrupt the noise in the most perfect and elegant way… with no hesitation. The stars are aligning – the beat seems to be going up and down, just like our emotions. This track feels like a new beginning and change is on the horizon.
The “Better Off In Writing” intro gives us a second to breathe from the emotions. We take a big breath in and let ourselves feel the beat that Covex intended. We breathe in, breathe out, then enter soft vocals. This track talks about how some things may be better left unsaid and “better in writing.” This type of pain cuts deep, acknowledging something, feeling it, but realizing maybe it’s not worth saying anything…
Last but certainly not least is “Good Side“. Delaney Jane tells us a story about someone who’s turned into a stranger. The pain of simply wanting to be on better terms and feeling like you can’t get anything right is something that we wouldn’t wish upon our worst enemy.
If Covex can do one thing, it’s tug on emotions that we are all too familiar with. He continuously leans into his emotions and draws on those very real feelings to create tracks that make us feel – in the best way possible. Touching on the names of his previous EPs, he’s captured the essence of sun and moon – allowing us to oscillate between emotions as we flip through Disk One and Two.
