Chris Comisar has released a new, other-worldly EP, Looking Inward. His previous EP, Becoming, had us hooked. We even premiered one of our favorite tracks off of it, “Seeker.” This latest EP has a similar feel. It’s light in sound but heavy in emotion. You could spend a couple thousand dollars on a yoga/meditation retreat in some far-out jungle, or you could go stream the EP. It’s a truly immersive experience for those who choose to listen.

This latest Comisar EP is released under Wormhole Music. It’s been a goal of his to release music with them for years, so we’re super excited to see those dreams become reality.

First up, we have “Angelo.” This is a great introductory track with its deep bass and glitchy beats. It highlights what listeners are going to be hearing and feeling throughout the EP.

The second track, “Sentinel,” hits all corners of the sound spectrum. Right from the start, it features running water before introducing various instruments and other elements. It’s got a gnarly beat layered beneath transcendental tones and some sort of drum. Towards the end of the song, you can literally hear the light glistening in.

“Breakthrough,” on the other hand, is much more uptempo than the rest. It is sure to have you moving and grooving with its bumping bassline.

The last track on this EP, “One Time,” is a personal favorite. It contains some lovely piano notes blended in with luminescent vocals and beautiful beats. It closes out this album perfectly and can easily serve as a meditative track.

The entire EP allows for some serious internal reflection, introspection, and alignment. It’s melodic, psychedelic, and has the power to move listeners through time and bass.

We know that this Colorado-based producer has been steadily pushing out new music and really making a name for himself. He’s got a few upcoming shows in California, Oregon, and Colorado following this release. So, if you happen to be in any of those areas, be sure to go catch a Comisar set and see what the hype is all about!
