It feels like it’s been years (because it has) since we’ve gotten some new RÜFÜS DU SOL, but the time has come. After days of big announcements from this Australian powerhouse trio, we got their newest single “Alive” dropped on us. The adequately named track has sparked a light in RÜFÜS fans, leaving us eager for what’s to come.
RÜFÜS DU SOL Teaches Us Cliffhangers 101
The madness started when RÜFÜS DU SOL was called to be a last-minute addition to the already staggering Bonnaroo lineup. They tweeted:
Got the call up to play a big slot on Sunday at @Bonnaroo . Lucky we’ve been working on a large new production for our Red Rocks shows and the rest of our dates this year

The following day they dropped a link to their website, where we got the first glimpse of their new single. Instant chills. Across the screen read “We’re back” okay… as if I didn’t have enough chills already. The website prompted you to sign up to their emailing list, which obviously we did.
Next, posters started popping up in different cities with the word “ALIVE” featuring the same link to their website. Needless to say, these boys know how to form a cliffhanger. Their next big announcement was more tour dates, which we love to see. In addition to their two-night Red Rocks run on August 11th and 12th as well as their three-night LA run on November 12th-14th, they also added Phoenix, Las Vegas, Houston, and Dallas. Finally, the boys of RÜFÜS DU SOL gave us something to awaken all our emotions. The first single off their upcoming album, “Alive,” gives us all those classic RÜFÜS vibes to remind us why we fell in love with them in the first place. The hooking rhythm takes us along every hill and valley of this track while fueling our senses every step of the way. After a few long years without any new music, this single is the perfect homecoming.
