The underground has always carried its loudest messages through those willing to challenge the patterns around them, and Test Kit refuses to stay silent. Built from the collective minds of burnsun, KiLO, Injustice, $ubversive, and Dasoma, the five-piece project channels community, resistance, and fearless experimentation into Revolt. An EP that asks listeners to question the systems surrounding them and recognize the power we hold when we move together. Beneath the crushing bass and unsettling textures lies an even louder message: sometimes the greatest act of love is having the courage to revolt.

Meet Test Kit: A Collective With Something to Say

From the depths of the underground, five creative minds have come together to create something bigger than themselves. burnsun, KiLO, Injustice, $ubversive, and Dasoma make up Test Kit, an eccentric collective that represents far more than what you can hear through their music alone. What began as friendships between peers on Discord and SoundCloud eventually grew into lifelong bonds and creative partnerships, laying the foundation for a project built with genuine passion and intention.

Test Kit exists as a separate entity. Test Kit gives all five producers a space to create freely under one name, step outside their comfort zones, and amplify a message they believe the music scene needs to hear. At its core, the project channels the same feelings that drew so many of us to underground music in the first place: discovery, community, experimentation, and the excitement of watching something special grow from the ground up. Test Kit is a statement from five artists who no longer want to remain quiet when they have a platform to speak through. To them, this scene means far too much to stay silent.

That same sense of care carries into the way Test Kit creates. Rather than operating as five individual producers loosely connected under one name, every member has a distinct voice in what a Test Kit track ultimately sounds and feels like. Each release is shaped collectively, with all five contributing their own perspective to the finished work. Nothing exists without the collaboration.

And that philosophy extends far beyond the music. Everything surrounding Test Kit is built from the ground up by the crew themselves. From photography to artwork and visuals, their creative identity comes directly from the people behind the project. Nothing is AI-generated, and nothing is disconnected from the human hands shaping Test Kit.

More than anything, Test Kit commits to growing together. They leave no one behind and view every member as an irreplaceable part of the collective. Take one person out of the equation, and Test Kit no longer exists. It is five individual voices choosing to move as one, and that bond is ultimately what gives the project its identity.

Stand up for what you believe in and join the Revolt with Test Kit

It’s time to find the courage within ourselves to challenge the institutions that were never built for us and the systems that have gone unquestioned for far too long. Throughout Revolt, Test Kit emphasizes the importance of pushing through discomfort and letting your voice grow louder, regardless of the stress, fear, and anxiety that linger around us. It’s a call to recognize the patterns we’ve been conditioned to accept, question who they serve, and ultimately find the courage to break away.

That journey begins with “The Machine.” Consider it Phase I: becoming aware of the system we’re all operating within. Test Kit pulls back the curtain and asks the listener to choose: continue consuming whatever the machine places in front of you, or recognize the pattern and begin searching for independence beyond it. But breaking free is never comfortable. “Perturb” embodies the tension and irregularity that arrive when you begin resisting what has always felt familiar. Through the track’s sonic wobbles, pulls, and mounting pressure, that discomfort becomes almost physical. The intensity continues to build as you fight against the forces trying to keep you exactly where you’ve always been, stuck within the shadows.

Push through that resistance, and suddenly you find yourself floating through the “Dream Network.” Weightless and surrounded by possibility, the track represents what can happen when individual resistance transforms into collective action. Look around, and you begin to realize you aren’t navigating this strange new world alone; like-minded people are floating alongside you. The eeriness of the unknown may initially feel intimidating, but it helps to know others are moving forward with you. Community becomes its own source of strength, preparing you to awaken from the dream and finally confront the “System.”

Facing it head-on brings another wave of distortion. “System” twists, alters, and pushes back at every opportunity, fighting to maintain the obedience it has worked so hard to create. Its hypnotic sonic pulses feel almost controlling, as though the very structure you’re challenging is attempting to pull you back under its influence. But something has changed. The fear that existed at the beginning of the journey has transformed into conviction. Armed with everything learned along the way, and strengthened by the people standing beside you, you’re finally prepared to join the “Revolt.”

By the time the EP reaches its final destination, we can no longer hide. This is the moment to raise our voices. Not only for those whom the system silenced before us, but for the people standing beside us and raising their voices now. The revolution has begun, and Test Kit leaves little room for complacency. Revolt becomes a call to speak up, challenge the institutions surrounding us, and fight for the freedom to imagine something different.

There Is Love in the Resistance

Through it all, Test Kit has crafted a body of work that delivers its message with undeniable intention. Revolt is ultimately about standing behind what you believe in while recognizing the power that comes from doing so together. The EP carefully weaves that philosophy through crushing bass, heavy melodies, uneasy textures, hypnotic rhythms, and moments that allow the listener to become completely engulfed within its world. Rather than simply telling you what revolution feels like, Test Kit asks you to step inside it.

And beneath all of that aggression lies something much more human. At the core of every revolt is love. Love for the people around you, love for the community worth protecting, and enough care to refuse silence when something needs to change. That sentiment extends beyond the music itself, appearing throughout Test Kit’s lyrics, messaging, visuals, and the larger world they have constructed around the project. Every element reinforces the same idea: this is the moment to question, push boundaries, and break the pattern.
