Electric Hawk attended the first-ever Sol Dance Music and Arts Festival in San Luis Valley, Colorado, from June 20th to June 22nd.
Alongside three uniquely built stages was a wildly impressive lineup of rising stars and underground talents. There were remarkable flow artists, fire performers, and extraordinary vendors, all amidst captivating art and infectious good energy.
Whether joining for two days or three, attendees were immersed in an intimate, dreamlike camping festival experience under the starlit night with a clear view of the Milky Way. Lifelong memories were created as we connected with the music, with ourselves, and with each other, all while surrounded by picturesque views and beautiful mountain skylines.

As we lose smaller, local festivals due to capitalist values in the industry, we also lose festivals that still hold the true meaning of these events. The festival’s owner and founder, known as DEADNASTY, curated a sacred gathering of adventurous wonder for the mind, body, and spirit. He even blessed us with a surprise set to close out Saturday night, mixing in a myriad of different genres and high vibes to show what the festival was all about.
Putting intention into every ounce of Sol Dance, DEADNASTY wanted us festivalgoers to feed our souls, grow, dance, play, and celebrate the Utopia he built. Here’s what he had to say after Sol Dance 2025:
“Now that Sol Dance has passed, the realization that curating a proper escape is something that people need. With the current state of our world, it is very much real that we are getting closer to a dystopian society. Dystopia Radio is a platform for creative individuals to help create an escape through the frequency and vibrations generated by their art and soul. So, that’s why I have built Sol Dance, a utopia where people can break free from this Dystopia and experience the main purposes of life. To be free, be yourself, and enjoy every moment. It is a reminder to the soul that we are powerful enough to make change and be a part of something greater. I look forward to continuing to build this community and helping people be the best they can be through events like this!” – DEADNASTY
Music
Friday night set the tone for the weekend with proper curation and thrilling sets. Stem-winding performances from Beau Beats, Hokage, GRIED, and Dukez followed an opening ceremony at the Summit Stage. At the same time, producers Crestfallen, Orbweaver, SIRIIAN, Spajra, and many more sound-benders brought us to the sacred garden of bass with AKA Productions at the Flora Stage.
Sol Dance’s Dome stage was an immersive geodesic portal between the Summit and Flora stages. Friday night featured rising talents Gortega, Krypto, Chenny, Afterbvrn, Macroz, Urza, and Slurk. As the night fell and visual projections lit up the mainstage, Colorado local up-and-comer Split Bass warmed us up for the Defy Culture takeover with his barrage of monstrous beats and impressive original tracks.
Multi-talented heavyweight Soggy Noize set the dancefloor ablaze to kick off the Defy Culture takeover. Might Delete followed, rinsing hypnotizing tracks and grimy dubplates. The Medicine Place, CØNTRA, and headlining Chief Kaya sets felt like they should have been illegal. The atmosphere was electrifying as these tastemakers commanded the crowd with system-heavy madness on proper Koja Sound speakers.

The night was far from over as the Spella & Friends Afterparty launched us into an experimental sonic journey with a vibrant all-female lineup in the Dome. We were led into the sunrise with sets from Colorado-based powerhouses Underground Selekta, Mooby, Hericane, Flower Bass, and Spella herself.
Saturday started piping hot with scorching performances from underground trailblazers Inertia, Miklo, Journey, Hubnaut, Kyte Beatz, and many more cutting-edge artists at the Flora Stage.

The mainstage was booming as inventive producers Rainbow Boy, Barooka, Wesley Mack, and Agyan led us into the venturesome evening. The night ended with thrilling sets from dubstep whizzes Star Monster, Die By The Sword, and Sfam.

On Sunday, attendees soaked up this unforgettable experience as we wrapped up with a Qualia Sound takeover. We got performances from Cosimar, Phurn, Lowcation, Daggz, and a sunset set from Saturna, with Chmura closing the festival.
The Temple Flora Stage was set ablaze as Blurple, Visitors, Guala, and Ception threw down. Confidon slowed it into the orange sunset with his blissful down-tempo, followed by Absnt and Furtha, who brought it right back up as everyone danced their last dances on these grounds. Well, until next year!
It was incredibly heart-warming to see so many deserving artists put their heart and soul into each performance, and it was clear the audience felt it, too.

Soul-Cleansing and Spirit-Lifting Workshops
Sol Dance Festival wouldn’t have been complete without the various nourishing workshops hosted by community healers and well-intentioned guides. One of the creative movement workshops, hosted by the brilliant Stephanie Spinelli, taught me that you can channel any and every emotion into dance. I walked away feeling free, realizing how medicinal movement can be.

To have a space where we can all unite together through ventures in holistic wellness and self-exploration is precisely what the organizers behind Sol Dance want for their attendees. The frequency therapy workshop with Bamboo and Lotus Wellness Consulting taught the power of sound healing through frequencies and vibrations. Other unique workshops included “Flow State Activation” with Taylor Cary, an introduction to poi with Monique Durtschi, and Daoist breathwork with flow yoga, hosted by Payge Purdue.
Flow Performances
There were some of the most mind-blowing aerial and fire performances I have ever seen in my festival-going career. Performance Coordinator, Faerie Goodvibes, curated a passionate lineup featuring Abby Rayne, Heirloom, Akira Kat, EyeZick, Dragon, and Stephanie Spinelli, among other astonishing fire benders. Each night, these dedicated entertainers sent the crowd into a frenzy, blessing us with breathtaking routines and fascinating flow.

Vendors
There were unique vending options, including crystals, face-painting, reworked clothing, lovely jewelry, and much more. Decibel Boutique was there with her handmade foxtails and face chains, and Psilly Spirits with her spiritual art and clay creations.
We were fascinated by the glass blowers in the other Dome formation next to the mainstage. There were live demos from artists like Aj Melts, who blew crushed opal right before our eyes. The light photographer, TJ Legler, was also there showcasing his skillful art photography.
Everywhere you went, there was a journey waiting for you, and that’s why we will hold this festival dear to our hearts.

Amongst the music, every corner of the festival had astonishing art and insane talent. Live painters staggered around the Summit stage while flow artists pranced the festival grounds gracefully. Festival workers were cooking and handing out food and water. It truly felt like we were all embracing the community DEADNASTY and everyone involved had created.
