On February 14th, NUEQ serves fans diverse and heart-opening frequencies through his new EP, Zahara, released on esteemed UK label, Inspected. The internationally-renowned producer collides four tracks into a body formed by emotive elements and bass foundation. Its intent seems to perfectly align with Valentine’s Day, as Zahara’s tone is defined by newly-discovered expression and deep emotion. From DnB, to experimental, to dreamy soundscapes, Zahara takes listeners through a journey filled with mysticism and self-guidance.

“I started composing ‘Zahara’ in mid-2022. It was an extremely intense period in all aspects, especially emotionally. I realized that I needed to do something big, without compromise, to guide myself to where I wanted to be.
Undoubtedly, it’s the hardest work I’ve ever done as a producer and as a human being. Every sound and tone was carefully chosen to convey the right emotion and energy.”

The journey through ‘Zahara’
NUEQ’s EP starts with a captivating, cinematic introduction: “Viernes” draws us in with bright melody, high tempo, and texture. The introduction’s melodic yet experimental warp carries into “Neo,” and is now accompanied by crisp snares and DnB energy. Keeping us energized, “Ammonites Wall” pulls at our heart strings with its airy and wondrous atmosphere. The imprinted melodies we started with continuously grow throughout the EP, showing the listener a dreamy world of magic and possibility. As the last track, “Astarte,” concludes Zahara, the familiar melodies deepen, taking us through a darker, eerie realm. A thumping rhythm ends the EP with strength, cosmic beauty, and mystery.
