The dazzling artist frolics across the terrain, putting the audience under a spellbinding charm. We fall into the captivating allure that Kurei displays with her ethereal soundscapes carrying into a celestial journey. Now is the time to disappear into the sacramental world that Kurei offers to discover the “divinity” that lies within it.
“I made this EP in a really dark time in my life. I had just gone through a breakup with my long-term partner of four years, and I felt so alone and so lost at the time. Through all the pain, heartbreak, and sadness, there was a moment of clarity where I knew I had to keep going for myself. I couldn’t give up.
I used this as a time to reset my life, focus on my music and career, and really re-align my goals and ambitions. This EP was what was created in that process. It captures all of the emotions and feelings from this experience and my newfound drive to keep going. I took the breakup as a sign of divine timing and to allow space in my life to focus on what mattered most – my music and my friends. It is about taking something so painful and heavy and turning it into something beautiful. It’s about not giving up on yourself and finding the light within the darkness.”

From the depths, we begin to feel the sparkling plucks from the mist. Through the enchanting environment, we notice a hypnotic pull through the shadows. Until we hear the eerie voices echoing in the distance, “Call My Name.“ The longing, mysterious aura grasping for our attention in the void as we continue to move forward. Our reality begins to alter while we gain momentum into the mystical forest. From the distorted bass and chromatic synths, Kurei warps our senses into the crystal dimension for us to secure our “Divinity.“
Now, fully within the crystal dimension, tranquility begins to settle around us. While the smoothing plucks continue to ease us, Kurei caresses our spirits through our misshaped desires. The chromatic flutters of the bass swarm around us. With the sonic waves dancing along our energy in a mesmerizing fashion until the chimerical climax. And as things begin to clear through the “Hazy” distance, we see the aberration in clear sight. To conclude the project, Kurei encapsulates the dark matter within the aberration and fully unleashes it into a nebulous melody. Through an array of wobbling bass and hypnotic undertones, “Hazy” dances along the lines of taking control of the darkness.
Naturally, through all the ascending and descending, Kurei brings an astonishing healing journey for her audience. Divinity captures the full elements of transcending into a better version of yourself. Whether you are longing for a reason to discover that light within the darkness, Kurei shares that there is something elegant that lingers within the pain we go through.
Kurei continues to be a transcendent talent and will rise in 2024!
While it’s only just the beginning of the year, Kurei has been taking strides to become a prominent act in the scene. Already lined up on her schedule is The Untz Festival in May with the Wormhole Music Group crew, along with a Bassrush released earlier this month with MeSo under her belt. Along with gaining recognition from different collectives, Bass n Babes and Kyra Collective, Kurei’s name rises in different realms. Earlier in the week, she released a mix through Street Ritual teasing new music, especially the new direction she is taking the project into – UKG and House. In the end, Kurei continues to have our hawk eye’s attention, and we are eager to witness what is next for the dazzling artist!
