Setting the atmosphere for us, Father Figure brings in this somber tone to settle us in. Through the more darker elements and soulful rhythmic beats bouncing in the background, “Your Shadow” asks us to pause for a moment to reflect. While the darkness may be looming around us, Father Figure shifts our perspective of what this “shadow” represents. As the track progresses, it leads into the eventual climax that is a lot more lively and electrifies our spirit. In the background, you can hear “I know that I’m doing okay” echoing to signal to us that instead of perceiving this gloom as something to sadden about, it can instead be something comforting.
And as we progress through the soulful journey, Father Figure teams up with Rsrch Chmcls to elevate our newfounded perspective with “The Invisible Man.” Both of them are exploring and amplifying the heightened senses with their styles. Escaping the excellence that thrives in the electro-soul genre with thrilling grooves, and adding their twists of what that sounds like with some drum and bass elements added into.
