On August 28th, DEVine Feminine takes over SHIFT Thursdays at Cervantes’ Other Side, bringing a night of fiery, raw, and unapologetic energy to the legendary Denver stage.
Curated by rising local artist DEV in collaboration with Denver EDM Friends and Koja Sound Productions, the lineup showcases a powerhouse roster of women artists, including Owtlet, Underground Selekta, Riss Ross, DEV, and an extra special โSecret Headlinerโ all coming together to celebrate femme-forward artistry and underground bass music.
We sat down with DEV to learn more about the planning of the event, the intention behind it, and why it all matters.

Behind the scenes of DEVine Feminine:
Kaylee Leitzel, Electric Hawk: What inspired you to curate DEVine Feminine, and what are you hoping to bring to the Denver scene with this lineup?
Devin Huffmaster, aka DEV: My project, which we talked about in the last Electric Hawk interview, has always been rooted in women’s empowerment. Even before I officially started making music, I knew that would be my focus. Itโs something thatโs always lived in the back of my mind.
DEV: I wanted to create a night that really highlights women in bass music. A space where we can come together, celebrate one another, and feel that appreciation.
Denverโs scene is already incredible, but I felt like there was room for something thatโs unapologetically rooted in feminine energy. I wanted to create a night that celebrates women pushing boundaries in bass music, and I hope people walk away from it feeling inspired and connected.
KL: The name Divine Feminine is super powerful, and itโs a play on your artist name too. What does that phrase mean to you personally?
DEV: To me, itโs about balance. Itโs strength and softness coexisting – thatโs how I define feminine energy, at least for myself. Itโs also about fully stepping into who you are and leading with both power and empathy.
And yeah, it is a nod to my name, which makes it feel even more personal. That little connection just kind of worked out naturally.
But more than anything, it defines what my project stands for and how I feel. Itโs all rooted in the Divine Feminine.
KL: DEVine Feminine will be the full experience with music inside, a silent disco outside, and lots of vendors. Can you share any teasers about the vendors?
DEV: Weโre debuting a vendor, Shelby Louder, whoโs launching her new platform, Live Louder Sober.
Itโs all about supporting sobriety in the music industry. Weโre creating space for that part of the community too, which is really important to me.
โLive Louder Sober is a community for those who choose to experience music, nightlife, and connection without relying on substances. We believe you can turn up the volume on lifeโand stay true to yourself while doing it.
At this event, weโll be handing out free swag and custom tarot-style cards that welcome you to the group, complete with QR codes to connect with us online. Come find us, grab some gear, and meet others who are living loud, clear, and unapologetically sober.โ

KL: How did you choose the artists for the event? Was there a specific energy or sound you were looking for?
DEV: Well, weโre keeping it within bass music, but I wouldnโt say I was focused on one specific soundโฆ
The artists I picked are people Iโve personally watched put in the work – finding their sound, promoting their own shows, making music, playing different events, and just overall kicking ass.
That was the best part about curating this, I got to choose who played, but I also got to give them this stage, this platform. And I truly believe every single one of them deserves it.
DEV: From the vendors to the silent disco DJs to the women on the main lineup, they all represent exactly what Iโm looking for in energy, in spirit, in talent.
Theyโre badass artists, amazing producers and DJs, and honestly, Iโm inspired by all of them. Iโm genuinely excited to share the stage with these incredible women.
KL: Is there anything else that fans should know who are going to the event?
DEV: Iโll have dancers, two badass women, so the performance side of the production will be female-led too.
DEV: Oh, and weโre building the stage ourselves. Moriah Kelldorf, Creative Director/Stage Design for the event, Bianca Lee, Dancer/Stage Builder, and I have been working on it behind the scenes. I wonโt give away exactly what itโs going to look like, but itโll tie into the visual themes behind my project. Kind of that dragon, fiery energy Iโve built around my brand. The stage will reflect that.
KL: With this being your first curated event, how was it different being behind the scenes versus on stage?
DEV: Iโm collaborating on this with Denver EDM Friends, especially Amelia Catania, who has a ton of experience throwing events. Sheโs been super helpful, because honestly, I had no idea what I was doing at first.
This has been the biggest learning curve of my project so far. Iโve had to contact managers, book artists, work with venues – all stuff I never imagined doing when I started.
As a DJ, you think youโll just play shows and make music. But now Iโm doing more, and Iโm so grateful. It makes the night feel even more special. This is our show โ mine, Denver EDM Friends, our friends, fans, supporters.
DEV: Itโs just different from playing someone elseโs event. Thereโs something so rewarding about building it from the ground up. Iโm proud of myself, my friends, and everyone involved.
And honestly, it shows how hard these women work. Everyone on this lineup has helped me so much – they deserve this platform.
And I still get to play a sick set on top of it all!
KL: What role do you think femininity plays in your music and the spaces youโre creating?
DEV: For me, itโs about intention and emotional power. That comes through in my music, my sets, and just who I am as a person.
I want to create spaces that feel strong but also safe and inspiring. That balance is really important to me.
This show is a reflection of everything Iโve always wanted my project to stand for, and seeing it come to life is honestly beautiful. It feels so rewarding to finally show people what Iโve been trying to build.
KL: Why is it important to you to spotlight other artists, especially underground and women’s voices?
DEV: I truly believe the future is female. In bass music and music overall. Iโve seen so many insanely talented women, producers, DJs, artists, and they deserve the world.
Itโs frustrating that their work doesnโt get the spotlight it should. The music industry is still very male-dominated, and even when women are included, it can feel like a box is being checked. Like, โOh, we added a female DJ.โ
But in reality, they are the show. In my experience, sets and events led by women often carry a unique sense of intention, power, and purpose.
Thatโs why I want to highlight these artists. Not just because they are women, but because they work their asses off and they are genuinely talented. They deserve to be seen.
DEV: I think if we don’t create platforms for women, we’re missing out on so much of what makes music culture vibrant.
KL: Whatโs something about DEVine Feminine no one saw but really impacted you?
DEV: Definitely the collaboration with my team and Denver EDM Friends, especially Amelia, and all the people who supported behind the scenes with promo, outreach, and just showing up.
Iโve also been working on new choreography with my dancers, and weโve been putting in so much time and effort. Itโs been a real community-driven event, and that means everything to me.
DEV: So many people reached out asking how they could help or be involved. Itโs honestly overwhelming in the best way. The amount of support, teamwork, and love thatโs gone into this is unreal.
People have told me theyโre inspired by what Iโm doing, and that just blows my mindโฆThat behind-the-scenes energy, that belief in me, has been the most inspiring part.
Iโm doing this because so many people believed I could. And theyโre the reason Iโm doing it.
KL: In a city like Denver, how do you carve out space for a different type of energy? One rooted in feminine power, but open to everyone?
DEV: By leading with authenticity. To me, feminine energy isnโt just for women. Itโs for anyone who values connection, creativity, and community. This show is about creating a vibe where everyone feels welcome and inspired, no matter who they are.
DEV: I just really want this to be promoted as a space for everyone. These women are incredible forces in the Denver scene, and they deserve to be celebrated.
This is a huge night for women in the industry. Itโs about celebrating them โ their work, their power, their creativity. They deserve this moment, and people deserve to be there to experience it.
