camoufly infuses pure sunshine and intricate sound design in his latest single, “Pyramids” from his forthcoming EP The Giant. Who is camoufly?
We can’t know for sure. The faceless, pink hoodie-wearing enigma dropped two singles in 2020 that left us wanting more. In January of this year, he delivered in a big way by releasing his debut EP, Apotheosis. The heavenly 5-track project brings all of the best “camoufly sounds” into what becomes a beautiful journey. His sound is one that many have tried to make a “moment,” but camoufly effortlessly makes it his own sonic universe.
“Pyramids” takes us into a bit of a darker, deeper place as we ride the wave of synths throughout. Backed with solid, steady drumlines and glittering keys this track is simply a cold glass of lemonade on a hot summer evening. It’s a song that can both motivate you and wind you down after a long day, and the emotion seeping through the track is one-of-a-kind.
I think this song has a very peculiar vibe and I would imagine this being played late night at a club. I feel like “Pyramids” is like experiencing space travel or bringing you to an imaginary world through moments of sparkling lightness and pure darkness. That’s what I imagine when I’m listening to it, at least.
