A cataclysm, by definition, refers to a turbulent event marked by upheaval and demolition, and my interpretation involves a cataclysm within the self, each song relating to that theme. In terms of production, I really challenged myself to explore different realms of writing and show a different side to the project than I did with my debut EP. Darker, more haunting. Once upon a dark time, we feel the eerie atmosphere swarm us. The unnerving ambiance leads us to “The Descent” as we inch closer to the trickling drops hitting the cobblestone floor. While we tremble our way, our mind begins to hallucinate. Now, our eyes are conjuring these apparitions in front of us. Austeria evokes the dark matter within the shadows, and through the chilling bass booming the course of our bodies, she builds this magnetizing pull towards the “Cataclysm” madness. Fully warped into oblivion comes a disarming voice in the distance. The Lie Within Callie echoes through the depths, a reminder of our frozen state. “In the midst of the darkness, I found my resilience,” pushing through the quaking sonics, snapping us awake from our terrified demeanor and resolute through the darkness.
Following the distress, Austeria flows us into a moment of stillness. This time, she puts us in a dark trance to enjoy “Moments of Desolation” as we fall under this haunting sound bath. Then, we’re softly guided through the ethereal atmosphere through Austeria’s pristine sound design. The dreary, hypnotic melodies slowly take us into the “Echoes of Catastrophe” chapter. Now, with our minds enclosed in the eldritch tones, we step into the abyss of Austeria’s mind through her production. She demonstrates her creation of an audiovisual journey. At the same time, getting the audience to fully immerse themselves in the kinetic energy the darkness offers. And as we awaken from our trance, feeling energized by the eclipse, Austeria is ready to send us “Into Oblivion.“

Finally, after concluding our tale, through the obscurities, we reunite with ourselves, but this time ready to embrace the chaos we were too scared to encounter in the past.
