In Conversation with Wreckno & Super Future

seradopa: Valentine’s Day usually comes with roses and slow jams—y’all chose chaos, bass, and ass-throwing. What made February 14th the right night for this Denver takeover?

Wreckno: When the opportunity to play Mission together arose, I felt very strongly that we needed to take it, considering how Nick [Super Future] has always been my day 1 in the scene. When management told me we had the opportunity to do it on Valentine’s Day?! The theme and campiness of it all flashed before my eyes, and I knew we had to send it!

Super Future: Yeah, I had never imagined a Valentine’s Day event before, but the more it presented itself as a sort of date night you can end with a rager, AND it’s a Saturday night? That made it feel much more like something to do with your partner and your friends. And we are definitely leaning into that aspect with production too. I’m pumped for that.

seradopa: Ass Throwers Anonymous has become more than a bit—it’s a movement, a mindset, a safe space. How do you define it now, and how does it show up physically in this show?

Wreckno: Ohhhhh, the performances we have in store for this show SCREAM Ass Throwers Anonymous party in the best way! Fire performances, aerial performances, special guests, and slutty bass music will all be present.

Super Future: It’s the Wreckno & Super Future iconic flavor of sound! Not many people lean into the sexier and c*nty with the music as we do together, so I love that we bring this to events. It’s for sure gonna look the way that sounds. Everything from the performers to the production to how people will likely dress will be the physical part.

seradopa: For first-timers entering Ass Throwers Anonymous, what are the rules? And what should people expect when attending this experience?

Wreckno: The only rules are that you gotta be kind to everyone, and bring your dancing shoes because it’s going to be a night where you won’t be able to stop wiggling! Or throwing ass!

Super Future: All of the above [laughs] plus express what you feel! Matching the fit to that energy is encouraged! The music goes hard af, but it’s definitely a different mood and a bit more than JUST the headbanging. You’ll be feeling a bit more slutty and fun than the average Mission Ballroom experience, trust that.

seradopa: How do your individual sounds collide or complement each other in a live setting, especially in a room as high-energy as Mission Ballroom in Denver?

Wreckno: Nick and I blend his heavy bass/trap style production with my hype queer vocals, and it always makes for the most fun vibe! Mission can definitely expect a heavy dose of allll of that.

Super Future: Exactly that. I even go more outside the box than I would normally, whenever with Wreckno, like you’ll hear house, twerk, breaks, and just much more than you’d get with me solo. I love that I express more when performing with Brandon [Wreckno], and that’s almost the point! Love everything we do together.

seradopa: There’s a clear shared DNA between your worlds: fun, confidence, and heavy bass. What makes your creative chemistry click, and how does that translate onstage?

Wreckno: I hope it makes our shows stand out from the rest as a truly safe space where you can be exactly who you are!

Super Future: We do try hard to create that space for people to feel all of those things because it’s what you SHOULD have every time you go enjoy music. I have heard from both industry professionals and fans that both of us have fanbases that are giving that sort of respect online and in clubs.

It’s a compliment I love, and it brings about a community that I’m sure we’re both very proud of. That’s the vibe I want around me, and good people deserve to enjoy that at a show.

seradopa: Denver being the Bass Capital that it is, what does headlining Mission Ballroom mean to you at this point in your careers?

Wreckno: It’s everything we’ve been working toward, in my opinion. Feels like the freakin Super Bowl or something. It’s just the pinnacle of our careers up to this point, and we have put so much time and energy into the production and performances. I hope everyone has as much fun as we did planning the show!

Super Future: Yo I am still blown awayyyy sometimes just hearing it outloud or reading about it… But as fast as time flies, Brandon and I have REALLY put in the time and effort to make this our reality. 6 years ago, we were just two dudes figuring our lives and music out, but we had talent and some huge dreams that we chased relentlessly. I’m so happy we got to this, and we get to do this TOGETHER. We’ve been through a lot to make this possible, so I’m trying to really, really enjoy it with our people.
