Time to Blast AYCH & Yewz on a Proper ‘Sound System’

Few things define underground bass culture like the power of a proper sound system, and AYCH & Yewz channel that energy into their latest release, “Sound System.” A track built to be felt as much as heard. Capturing the raw, immersive intensity of the underground, it’s a record that engulfs listeners from the first drop.

Electric Hawk also sat down with AYCH for an exclusive interview to discuss the single, what’s next, and his favorite sound system—so keep reading after our review to dive deeper.

Prepare yourself with this Summer’s anthem with AYCH & Yewz with “Sound System”

The moment you step in, you’re swallowed by a dark, ominous underground. As you move deeper into the thick, sweat-soaked air, towering stacks of sound systems loom around the stage. Echoing through the space, distant vocals ripple outward, educating the crowd on sound system culture for those tuned in. Then it hits. A surge of wobbling bass and screeching synths crashes over you, rattling your body and shaking the ground beneath your feet. The energy is dense, physical, and contagious, pulling the entire room into sync, moving as one with the pulsing low-end. And as the final moments fade, there’s a lingering realization: this is what music is meant to sound like on a proper system.

AYCH and Yewz tap directly into that core of underground culture: sound systems as both medium and message. With “Sound System,” they distill the essence of bass music into a track built for impact, one that feels destined to dominate summer crowds. It’s the kind of record that demands participation, vocals you shout back, drops you give yourself to completely. For anyone looking to spotlight the raw, uncompromising energy coming out of the underground right now, AYCH & Yewz deliver exactly that with “Sound System.”

In Conversation with AYCH

seradopa: Your new track “Sound System” with Yewz has been one of the most requested IDs since your Electric Hawk mix. How does it feel to finally have it out in the world?

AYCH: It feels amazing. Yewz and I have been sitting on this tune for almost a year now and it just felt like the right time to put it out with festival season coming up! It will be a relief to not have to tell people it’s “coming soon” anymore.

seradopa: Can you walk us through the origins of the track? What sparked the collaboration with Yewz, and how did the idea first come together?

AYCH: The collaboration started when Yewz sent me a pack of ID’s. I was working on my Sound Haven set at the time and trying to find fresh tunes when I came across the sound system ID. I listened for the first time and messaged Chase to collab almost immediately.

The idea was finished within the next couple of weeks and then we played it out together on the UFO stage. After that, it just sat in the hard drive. Chase and I both got pretty busy and our release schedules didn’t align, but we’re grateful to finally have it out.

seradopa: If you could consistently play “Sound System” on your dream setup, what sound system would you choose and why?

AYCH: Definitely the HSD Warhawk System that the sub.culture audio crew has out in Austin. It’s one of the best systems I have ever heard live and it pains me that I haven’t had the opportunity to play on it yet. I think it’s the best listening experience of any system I’ve heard, if I’m being honest.

seradopa: It’s already been a huge year for you in Miami for Deadbeats, opening for Sully in Denver, and a stacked summer ahead. How has it felt to be on the road more and to connect with fans in real time?

AYCH: Being on the road is surreal. I spent so much time daydreaming about these experiences and I couldn’t be more grateful to tour and meet people who listen to my tunes. I have met so many amazing people this past year and I can’t wait to see what the future brings.

seradopa: It really feels like this could be an “AYCH Summer” and beyond. What does that kind of momentum feel like from your perspective as both an artist and a fan of the scene?

AYCH: It’s a privilege for me. This is what I’ve always wanted to do and it feels like it’s all coming together. As a fan of the scene, I really feel like it’s headed in a great direction. So much underground talent is being showcased around the country right now. It’s been the coolest thing ever to come up alongside so many friends as well.

seradopa: You’re getting recognition from some major names. Has there been a moment recently where it all felt a bit surreal?

AYCH: Of The Trees has been supporting my tunes recently, which has felt crazy. He is a big inspiration of mine and I have always had a strong connection with his music.

seradopa: Fans have been asking for another Gas Pack! Is there anything you can tease about a potential Volume 2?

AYCH: Vol 2 is coming soon. Very excited to share these flips with y’all!

seradopa: If/when it happens, what would you want to do differently this time around compared to Volume 1?

AYCH:  No ragrets for vol 1. Not even a single letter.

seradopa:  What excites you most about where the AYCH project is heading next?

AYCH:  I’m excited to keep sharing the tunes I’ve been working on and leveling up my performances. You can expect to see a lot of new visuals and maybe some instruments involved as time moves on. Maybe working on an EP too!

seradopa: As you continue to grow from the underground, who’s around right now that you want more people to know about that you love?

AYCH: Gotta give a huge shout out to all the homies:
