Lord Genmu returns to the pristine label DOME OF DOOM for another turbulent ride to enjoy. This time, we ascend to the mangle, metallic, impaired, chaotic beauty that has become the signature of this rising artist. Immediately, you will enter this new dimension and become unlocked by the HYPER-HEAVEN journey that awaits you.
“I would say that with the HYPER-HEAVEN EP, the overall theme was how extreme I could get with electronic music, whether it be the insane moments of distortion in ‘HYPER-HEAVEN’ and ‘Wing Zero’ or even just a guy screaming over a bassline like in ‘CGS.’ All of these moments amalgamated to me just having fun with experimenting and, in the end, creating a very “banger” oriented and upbeat project. Even the name HYPER-HEAVEN conveys the extravagant theme I was aiming for. I mostly used Ableton stock plugins except for the analog heat MK 2 in ‘Wing Zero’ for some of the sound design. The record was finished over the year at my home in Austin, Texas. The track ‘CGS’ was made at Bleep Bloop’s studio in LA.
For the mixing and mastering, I would get some feedback from Bleep Bloop on whether or not things sounded correct because, to me, he’s one of the best people to ask about this style of music, but the mastering process was all done by Kursa. As for influences on this record, I’d say that ‘Wing Zero’ was more inspired by the 2015-2018 era of bass music, while ‘HYPER-HEAVEN’ pushes to a newer, more refined/simplistic trap adjacent sound that I’m starting to lean into a bit more, all while keeping the entire project pretty cohesive.”

It’s time to ready up and board your “Wing Zero” to prepare for the journey ahead. With all the systems booting up, we begin to feel the rumbling of our environments distort our mainframes. Although with no reason to be alarmed, we stand our ground and embark through the chaos. Through the heavy deteriorating synths and blaring bass, our ship pushes through the turbulence. Lord Genmu’s captain logs prepared us for this adventure. But before fully escaping, we endure the second wave of commotion from the storm. As we pass through the frenzy and chromatic turmoils, we officially enter into “HYPER-HEAVEN.“
The systems alert us of the dangers ahead. We lock into the destination and full throttle. We follow the directions Lord Genmu gave us and swerve into the anarchic environment. Now, our ship is feeling the pressure from the gusts of shimmering synth blasts, yet we keep control. “HYPER-HEAVEN” exhibits massive thundering tremors and system-frying waves. While the fracturing metallic clangs continue to push our ship, we embrace the final stage, “CGS,“ that lies ahead. Through the expedition, Lord Genmu and his partner Bleep Bloop warned us about “CGS” and what to expect. The last wave is filled with sinister synths and crunching elements that display the sonorous environment around us. As we reach the end of our venture, we see the clearing and sign back into our logs to see where Lord Genmu wants to take us next.

Lord Genmu has come a long way since we announced him a Hawk Eye Artist to Watch in 2023. From releasing his debut album to getting to perform with G Jones at the Caverns, Lightning in a Bottle, and recently just performing at DEF Global in Austin, the name Lord Genmu continues to shine bright in the crowd. While there is no sign of slowing down, already having G Jones at Brooklyn Mirage, The Untz Music Festival, and a few select dates with Juelz in his lineup, Lord Genmu is shifting gears in displaying his talents to everyone. The praise and recognition from the crowd is much deserved for the rising star. Without a doubt, he remains one of the most exhilarating names in the underground. And we highly recommend witnessing the thrilling joys that come with a Lord Genmu set!
