“Over three years ago, I sent a beat to Giana when she first began her lyric work journey under the alias Grim Steez. Together, we created our first collaboration titled ‘Cracked Foundation,’ a soft-spoken melodic tune crafted from a sample from Anberlin’s ‘Stranger Ways.’ Flashforward to three years later when we decide to run it back- but this time, with a much darker approach. The original beat I crafted was titled ‘VOID,’ which was very much inspired by deeper Supertask-type beats. I sent the beat to Giana, knowing I wanted to add lyrics. Within a couple of days, she sent back what is now ‘Vicious.’ After a little vocal processing and fx, it was a one-and-done perfect take.”

“As soon as Indobeats sent the first beat I already knew what I wanted to throw on it. I had parts of it already written, wrote the rest in a matter of minutes, and recorded it that same week. He and I go way back to when we were first starting to play dubstep shows on the East Coast. However, working together in a more hip-hop-oriented setting is always so seamless. Both beats hold two totally different emotions. The first one, in my opinion, is an angry heavy-hitter, but the second version has a much more eerie and sinister tone.”

Naturally, both Indobeats and Mantra Sounds continue to build momentum within the bass community. Both of them being featured in our Hawk Eye Artists To Watch in 2024, they continue to surpass the limitations of our expectations halfway through 2024. From Indobeats, getting to perform along Atyya at Cervantes at the end of the month and recently signing onto management to Mantra Sounds recently performing at The Untz Festival and gaining love through Street Ritual.
