Bass Coast ‘REflection’ Encourages Safe Space & Sustainability

Bass Coast Festival

Bass Coast sells out its 16th installment, bringing some of the greatest artistic expression to this year’s REflection theme. Their boutique event is a fashion-forward extravaganza with a vision encompassing festivalgoers’ place in environmental sustainability and consumption. The three-day camping festival in the inviting valley of Merritt, BC, covers all bases, offering spa bookings, workshops, and more. Advocating for cultural respect and harm reduction, Bass Coast provides a safe space for all those passionate about the environment, humanity, music, and arts.

A Hassle-Free Journey

As an independent festival, Bass Coast’s ticket pricing is well below the ordinary fee standard. With a notorious lineup and affordability, it’s no surprise they’ve sold out their online sales in the blink of an eye. To make things even more convenient, their add-ons like early entry, bell tents, and the bass shuttle transport make it easier for their guests to stay wild and worry-free.

The Sustainable Approach

Other than REflection on sustainable efforts and consumption, Bass Coast encourages attendees to think outside the box regarding REUse and REPurpose.

“Whether it’s fashion, art, or everyday practices, there are endless ways for everyone to get involved with this theme. From DIY fashion on any budget to finding creative uses for natural materials, REflection invites each of us to play a part in shaping a more conscientious future.”

– Liz Thomson, Co-Founder and Art Director of Bass Coast Festival

It’s Dancin’ Time

The Bass Coast 2024 lineup curation is a dream, from hip-hop to thumping house beats. Headliner Leikeli47 brings her unique production to the valley, showcasing a blend of rap, house, style, and empowerment. Sharing the headlining spot is Of The Trees, well known for his bass vibrations and musically diverse sets.

The two, one-of-a-kind headliners are supported by artists who are no strangers to versatility. No matter the mood, Bass Coast has an artist for you to get your groove on. Attendees are blessed with genres like DnB, UKG, house, dubstep, and everything in between. Exemplifying an effortless combo of these genres is Yung Singh, who also incorporates his own sound of Punjabi instrumentation. Getting comfortable in our dance kicks, introspekt’s garage foundation and DJ Prosumer’s house passion will keep us moving through the night. Looking for something vibrant and funky? SHIBA SAN’s tech-house fusion or K+ Lab’s electro-funk vibes have you covered. What about more instrumentals with a vibrating twist? Lazy Syrup Orchestra is an act you won’t want to miss.

Brain & Body Stimulation

Aside from music, Bass Coast incorporates mind-bending art installations and captivating murals to cater to your creative mind. This year, art installs surround the REflection mission, some built with the REuse of materials and REpurposed into pieces of wonder. Workshops open the mind further, inspiring growth and focus on wellness. Speaking of wellness, Yoga sessions are scattered throughout the weekend offering guests a moment to breathe and stretch out their muscles for another day full of dance.

This festival draws guests to the present moment and inspires change for a better future while spreading messages of love, mindfulness, and environmental awareness. From music to art, to community care, Bass Coast’s vision to create a safe space for all expressions couldn’t be clearer.
