Known for his bass music fluidity, the saxophone-playing producer, SoDown, is serving up yet another tasty tune by the name of “Cake.” Released via his label, GetDown Records, “Cake” showcases SoDown’s heavier, mind-altering mastery, as opposed to his more chill and funky counterparts.
Clearly, SoDown pulled from many inspirations while whipping up “Cake.” A dash of late 80s hip-hop vibes and a whole lotta Colorado bass create a scrumptious track that stands out from the first listen. Trust us when we say this one is going to get some sweat dripping when heard on a dance floor! And, we 100% respect how SoDown was feeling when working on “Cake,” which you can read here:
I wanted to make a track that reflects the state of capitalism and its shortcomings. In what seems like an endless pursuit of paper, it’s easy to lose sight of what really matters, those we love, the experiences we share, and the growth within ourselves.SoDown
