House music maven Sam Blacky has unveiled her sparkling debut EP, Summer Solstice. This five-piece offering is the embodiment of summertime and is out now on Blacky’s very own imprint, Stabby Records.
San Diego-born Sam Blacky knows a little bit about traveling to exotic destinations. Discovering her love for performing and producing while she was living in Australia, her music reflects the beauty of her global adventures. She has spent the last four years performing all over the world, from Ibiza to Mexico, mesmerizing crowds with her sun-soaked tunes and infectious stage presence. With the launch of her label, Stabby Records, and five hit singles under her belt, it is clear that this one-woman powerhouse is here to dominate the dance music scene.
‘La Noche’ is the final focus track of my EP, Summer Solstice, and it’s the perfect finale. I was so excited; I got to work with a friend of mine who I actually met a few years ago in Ibiza, Elisa Gold, on the vocals. Thanks to her, the song is entirely in Spanish, adding even more to the global vibes of the EP as a whole. This song has the most tribal, uptempo beat of the whole ep so obviously, it’s my favorite. As I’ve said before, tying in my travels and different cultures is a huge part of my goal with these songs, as well as female empowerment and support of one another. Working with another globe-trotting, foreign, female artist on this one was so special. The vocals are all about freedom, dancing, letting go, and pure enjoyment. I hope it makes everyone feel like summer every day.

Summer Solstice houses four of Sam Blacky’s most recent singles as well as a brand new, tribal-infused track “La Noche.” Elisa Gold’s sultry vocals and an uptempo bassline make a perfect pair for dancing the night away. “Too Late” is a sassy tech-house stunner, and “Body” is an ethereal journey through sound. “No More” is an empowering breakup tune, while the lush “Paradise” finishes out the EP with cinematic soundscapes and other-worldly vocals. These glittering odes to palm trees and beach hair have a permanent spot in our summer playlists.
