Summertime Chi has been starting to heat up over the last few weeks with this warm weather. Last week summer got even hotter with the announcement of an all-new festival, Heatwave. This festival will run July 16-17 at Douglass Park and is featuring artists like Zeds Dead, Above and Beyond, and G Jones

Many festivals, like Lollapalooza and North Coast, call Chicago home. While breaking into the Chi fest scene, Heatwave is trying to pop out from the others. This festival will be featuring “three unique environments inspired by the most famous in pop-art for a music-meets-art landscape of installations and environments to explore.”. So be ready to immerse yourself into a world of art while jamming to the top names of dance music.

The three environments will be The Inevitable, The Reverie, and The Radiance. These environments will display artwork from artists like Andy Warhol and Kieth Haring. The Auris Presents team behind the festival is hoping the immersive pop art world will excite festival-goers and “set Heatwave apart as the most exciting addition to Chicago’s dance music calendar.”.

If those descriptions don’t get you excited, maybe you have some heat exhaustion going on up there? Sit down in the shade, take a drink of water, and buckle in for an experience unlike any other.
